Personally I wouldn't spend less than £1500 on a laptop, but hey, it's down to what you enjoy and value. For me a bike isn't something I enjoy and neither is a jacket that's over priced for a thing that means very little to me. Seems lot's of other people feel that way too

55 hot votes now, which proves hukd hasn't the most active audience .

Yeah I'm not a massive fan of the jacket either, but it's a good deal for a waterproof, which if you are sat indoors on a £1500 laptop then you'd probably not need one. for me and many others, bikes and outdoor lifestyle means i need a good waterproof jacket hence I have numerous and I wouldn't pay £40 for a pushbike, but would pay 100 times that to get a top quality bike.

Not really a cycling shoe any more than converse are a baseball shoe. why … Not really a cycling shoe any more than converse are a baseball shoe. why pay £50 ?

These are one of the most renowned cycling shoes available for flat pedal MTB or BMX. The soles on these things stick to spiked flat MTB pedals better than any other flat shoe, and they have a firmer sole than your average trainer.

If I'd seen this sooner, I'd have bought - don't have my size now.

A fantastic trainer. I bought two pairs a few years back and were incredibly comfortable and offered fantastic grip on flat pedals. Stopped wearing them for a while when I switched to SPD, but moved that to another bike and need flats again. These guys don't have my size but it's still hot and the red looks great.

Interesting comments on their customer service, I ordered a pair which arrived quickly. I've tried them for fit and comfort and then ordered some more. Wonder if they'll arrive ?

Thought I'd share the deal since the price was so good if you are brave enough to wear red shoes

Same as previous comment took order and money kept it for a week then refunded saying no stock. Same item was back up a day later at a higher price, would never buy from again!

Bloody increased the price to £29.99 now... ****. Got a £25 voucher and can't decide what to use it on.

I used to have one of these years back and it had a 2 way zip which meant u could unzip from the bottom and have extra ventilation. Great feature but the new models don't seem to have it.

Great price but think should be going high vis ... Doesn't look like it has much ... Paying bit extra so you are visible worth every penny esp with such idiots on the road

good quality but I thought they were very thick. I bought one last winter and felt they were a bit too warm for me and I live in Glasgow. Great price though

I'm glad I didn't buy the 3 speed in the end, as I've just been to collect a brand new (5 miles of use) 2014 Brompton M6L for £525 from a private seller on Gumtree (full warranty/receipt from Evans etc). It even has the upgraded Marathon tyres & the easy wheel things (as well as the full mudguards).

The gear range is superb (MUCH better than my old Dahon Speed P8)...and it has the extended seat post which means the bike fits me perfectly (no mean feat given that I am 6'3" with long arms!).
Anyway, this is my first Brompton and I am over the moon with it. Now I just need to get myself some luggage systems so I can go touring

For anyone that is wondering whether Bromptons are worth the hype. They are :).

Who cares how safe it is, it looks awesome!

On a serious note, whether it's yellow or black is irrelevant as long as it reflects stupidly well which will then alert the person behind to your existence!

A yellow high visibility jacket of low quality will not necessarily reflect as much light to the person behind as a black one with high reflectivity therefore it's about quality rather than colour

http://www.cyclesurgery.com/pws/client/images/catalogue/products/calt0068kk/large/calt0068kk_1.jpg

Most of the reflected light comes from the trousers and helmet not from the jacket...

Clearly that helmet did not meet the standards and I guess technically makes it not a cycle helmet.Being rigid doesn't make a helmet safer, the helmet is supposed to absorb the impact rather than your head. If it was super rigid that wouldn't happen.I'm not saying there are no bad cycle helmets I'm saying you can get a helmet that will protect you just fine for £20. It wont look as cool as this or be as comfortable or as aerodynamic but it will protect your head.

This was a commuter helmet made by Bell if memory serves - and was around £50. It was considered dangerous because of the way it impacted the neck during collisions. It basically made it more likely that you would receive a life threatening injury.
So yes, not all helmets are made the same...or have the same impact protection.
Personally, if it looks right (i.e., looks like a MTB helmet) and fits well, then it will probably do the job. But it definitely isn't right to think that all helmets are inherently safe. I dare say most of the fashion orientated helmets are far less effective.

Sure I'm not saying spending a bit more on a helmet is pointless I just think that sayings like "how much is your head worth" are unhelpful to the consumer as this distorts the reality of the risks they are taking by wearing a cheaper helmet.
