Good ram / storage, and a smaller tablet for £99, free delivery

Dual cameras
The Tab M8 (4th Gen) features 2MP front and 5MP rear cameras for sharp selfies and treasured photos, whilst the memory card slot enables you to add more storage when required (just pop in a previously purchased memory card), so there’s no excuse not to snap or video to your heart’s content.

Any angle
In-Plane Switching (IPS) allows you to view the screen from any angle and still enjoy a sharp image. And, certified with TUV Rheinland eye protection, its display lowers harmful blue light to reduce strain on the eyes.

Reading mode
Immersive Reading Mode makes long screen sessions easier on the eyes. It enhances readability by simulating the colour matrix of the pages in a printed book, so it's more like reading on paper.

Google Kids Space
It also comes with Google Kids Space, featuring content that helps kids discover, create and grow. You can guide your child's experience by managing content and setting screen time limits from your own device with parental controls in the Family Link app.

Privacy protected
Safeguard yourself and your family with a privacy dashboard that lets you quickly and easily manage privacy settings. Know when your camera and microphone are on with camera and microphone indicators for greater peace of mind.

Battery power
An ample 5100mAh battery delivers up to 16 hours of power from one full charge for uninterrupted binge-watching or socialising.

Looked decent but let down by the poor 5 year old SoC

Still decent compact tablet, rare these days unless going for an ipad mini

Pretty decent, I keep one at the bedside for some late night deal surfing. These have the extra feature of being able to schedule when they power on and off so mine powers up at about 10pm and off again at midnight everyday. I think I've charged it once since I got it few months back. (edited)

I've been eyeing up the Alldocube iPlay 50 Mini for mum, probably go for it when her current tablet dies. Think its around £95 ish, the spec same as this Lenovo but has IPS screen, UNISOC T606, Widevine L1 8.4 Inch, Android 13 and supports 4G LTE

Currys have the M9 32gb for £99. Is their much difference between the two other than storage?

Reviews suggest that the M9 is the better tablet due to a brighter screen and faster processor. If I was buying, I'd go for the M9 over the M8. (edited)

I'm really glad I got the £35 Lenovo K10 tablet because for a basic bedtime browser/media watcher like myself it's no better than my Tab A 10" 2016. In fact I prefer the samsung browser.
I was looking for a larger new tablet and the not exactly overwhelming K10 has stopped me wasting ~ £200.
    A smaller tablet . . not gonna happen .

Just read your comment with interest as I'm after a no frills 10 inch tablet. Just seen the k10 is available for £35, would you recommend?

As it's Lenovo I imagine support/updates will be pretty awful.

I had the first version of this tablet and Lenovo's update completely bricked it. I've had many tablets over the years but none have done that to me.

I'm sure they have improved since then, this was 2019 after all, but I personally wouldn't touch this with a barge pole. Even if the updates work the processor is awful in this particular one.

is the speed of this going to make me want to throw it at the wall? i’m considering getting an iPad mini, but they're a lot of money for an A15…

I've just sent a mini back as I just couldn't get on with how small the text is, particularly on icons. Tried increasing the size, in fact tried all sorts but with no luck. My S23 has larger text.

I have an ipad mini 4th gen, and browsing is kind of sluggish - though all else if fine.
Would this be an improvement in terms of "performance"? I don't game on it, just news reading and occasionally as a kindle. Thank you!

Do there have Google play store?

Hmm, I can get this for £88 with my work discount.
I fear this cheap it may be slow though haha.

What version of Android is it? Why doesn't it say or am I just missing it? lol
    BeefyMcWhatNow's avatar
Buy it without using your discount, it'll be faster then

I have just posted on another thread that John Lewis also have the M10 3gb version at £119. Seems to be a good deal if you are after something basic
