I'm so glad this deal is gone. One of my top 3 favourite laptops, this was a really good deal. Glad is gone as I don't need it but I was tempted. I voted hot when it was in stock.
I don't know how often you returned hassle free to Currys, to me they are by far the worse retailer. Regardless if it is Currys, Currys Ebay, Currys Clearance or Currys Business. I don't think they should be in business. If you read their reviews online or go on their Facebook page, you will read proper horror stories. Out of my last 5 orders, 4 were cancelled but they took the money. It took months to get my money back, and that's because I put lots of effort in it. I don't even want to remember about the TV I've got from them, which broke within 4 weeks, another performance. Well, returning may be hassle free sometimes, getting your money back is the problem.
I bought a 'grade a' HP Envy 13.3" laptop from them. Ethernet port was damaged and had 2 dents on bottom. It had obviously been dropped. Took ages to get a refund. In the end had to get Paypal involved. Never again!
Never miss a 'Lenovo Tablet' deal again!

Is this the same with all Lenovo tablets that use Mediatek do people know?
iPad is not good for watching films, it's 4:3 ratio and both of the speakers are on the left side.
Likewise, I have this, its well built, use it daily, kids use it daily too with Disney+ and homework etc. Good all rounder for the price. Only gripe is battery as it's slightly on the small side therefore doesn't last as long and is not fast charge, so takes ages to charge up. Apart from that it gets heat from me.
I know. That's why I went for galaxy A7 for my boys. Similar price, not to slow. Does the job. Also Samsung is pretty good with updates, not like Lenovo. They're only just a bit better then most Chinese companies - make it, forget it.
Won't stop them trying though. You're probably right, but for whatever reason, Netflix doesn't support the device in HD. And, the SD quality is almost as bad as a cam version of a movie!
I got the Fire HD 2021 10 plus in the prime day deals and it's going back! It was for my daughter and you can't even install Family Link on it. Awful software experience - and that's after I had added play store etc and got rid of the amaozn launcher! Also, you say inferior but it has a nearly 3 year old processor in thee 2021 model!
Yes,a pity Amazon (arrogant as they are) doesn't bite the bullet and install proper android software.
... but Kindle isn't proper Android. There are workarounds to get close, but in my experience the experience isn't the smoothest.
These are inferior compared to the new 2021 FireHD 10. New Fire HD has 1GB more RAM, 4 more cores, and 16GB more storage
Definetely an Ipad has a longer shelf life and you also can sell it after years of use, it still keeps some value. With regards to this deal, sorry, not amazing at all. This is a regular price for Lenovo M10 Plus, which comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, with some luck, even with LTE. I didn't vote BTW.
Bargain, however an Ipad will have a longer shelf life than this. Speaking from experience, cheap tablets slow down quite quickly and become frustrating. I've learnt from having previous Lenovo's and Amazon fire tabs. Also, these use the slower/cheaper MediaTek Cpu's. However I hope I'm wrong and this is amazing.
Definitely underpowered with that combination of 1GB RAM, slow CPU and a slow WiFi chip. Still, if you need your kids entertained on a long trip you could do worse than buying a couple of these with a few cheap SD cards and bunging in a few video files to keep them entertained. Here's ETA Prime's review - Netflix runs ok, and surprisingly GTA San Andreas is playable on the lowest settings (!!). As he says, they should have bunged in an additional half a gig of RAM. The form factor looks pretty good though, far smaller bezels than say the Fire Tablet 7. I picked up the Huawei MatePad 8 with 2GB RAM direct from Huawei for £35 delivered on a recent deal and it performs far better with that extra RAM and faster SOC.
Bit different if you are comparing phones to tablets. Tablets need less ram. I've got the 2016 samsung tab a and it's still running strong and i think that's only 1.5gb ram. Still runs latest stuff like football manager without problems. If i can get away with 1.5gb of ram i reckon 1gb is useable for surfing the net etc.
Nope that the new price this is warehouse its still £34.29
its OOS now :) and price is back to £70
Best buy soon else it'll be heading to the dump.... (y)
While I personally don't have any specific recommendations, it's best to go to a site like GSM Arena where you can compare devices side by side, and they state the weight of the device. I agree with you though, I'd love to have a speedy lightweight tablet too. Hope this helps. :)
Whats the lightest 9/10" Tabley you can buy. I have the samsung tab A 10" Bit rather heavy and slow
Yes what I don't like about FireOS is how many major Android OS revisions it is behind, meaning sideloading apps have a more limited lifespan.
Ah yes, this is more realistic. 4GB really is the bare minimum for Android. Otherwise the best optimised flavour of Android that runs with 2GB is FireOS, aka Amazon devices.
M10 with 4GB has been £129, if you can get at that price again then it's good enough. Wait for Prime day on 21st - 22nd.
Not true. I got Legion Lenovo and is amazing laptop
is it M10 plus FHD 4GB version you are talking about?
Contact the seller again with a message and request reimbursement of the cost for postage. It's good if you've kept receipt, but shouldn't really be necessary. If seller refused. Speak with Amazon and they will reimburse you if they can't get the third party seller to. It's consumer law that if the item is faulty. The seller must pay for return postage.
I have no idea how to go about that, but I'll certainly look into it. They suggested sending it recorded delivery...
I have had fantastic customer service. I bought the ideapad 15 last year, when arrived boxed was damaged called to complain they gave me 10% refund without fuss.
I'm in the same boat as you, thinking what with Amazon Prime day being next week, I'm leaning towards a Fire 10 and sideload Google Play/android launcher etc.
Looks good, was after Nest Hub Max but this seems a great alternative
I want to buy a decent tablet for £150 ish range. If not Lenovo any other suggestions at this price range? Not really bothered with updates.
I had the original version of this; fantastic piece of kit let down by the lack of updates. I received one update in 4 years (early one). By the end of that time, it was virtually impossible to use except for very basic tasks due to app updates.
