I've had 7-8 laptops from them and they've always been in better condition than expected

1 failed about 3 days before end of 12 month warranty and they issued me a full refund after I sent it back - it was deemed beyond repair.

Sadly it's a TN panel and not the much better 1080p IPS one

I got one of these with 16gb for £203.99 a month or so a go. It is good apart from a small error that they say they will sort out over the phone. Mine doesn't have a Backlit Keyboard though. (edited)

Is this part of the x280 range just newer model?

The X390 was the replacement with a 13.3" screen instead of a 12.5", other than that most the specs are the same (minor cpu bump) and the case is the same size with less bezel. (edited)

Just ordered one. This will be about the 5th or 6th one I've had from them.
Funny enough, the main one I've been using - a 3rd gen i5 Elitebook, has just spat its dummy last week - a fault that's affecting both the nipple and the trackpad buttons so this is perfect timing. If it lasts as long (around 6 years), I'll be very happy.

X series Thinkpads are excellent - I've had 2 work machines and they've both been excellent. I gave an old X230 to a pal's son during Covid to do school work on and he's still using it!

    So it'll be 768p, slightly above 720p/HD.

    Thanks for the post!

Would this be the cheapest laptop for an 11 year old that just needs to use ms365, and occasionally watch a bit of YouTube etc?

It's a genuine bargain, The display resolution is just too low for my uses.

You can retrofit higher res IPS panels into these fairly cheap

I think it's a slightly bigger screen. Suggest you Google specs for a detailed comparison (edited)

Hi, can someone please let me know if this is better than Lenovo ThinkPad X280 Intel i5 8350 8GB RAM? Thanks

I was thinking of going for this instead with better specs, comes in at 288 with 10%, what do you all think? Good deal or wait for better?

Specs are good but double the cost!

Great price! When Chromebooks that can do next to nothing are more expensive than this for a very similar spec but without any software, then this is a no-brainer.
