Does it really has RTX 3050, in technical details it says that it has a dedicated GPU, the only place where it says anything about 3050 is an advertisement bit from the manufacturer. Has anyone bought it and can confirm what GPU it has?

Surely. The marker for all Lenovo laptops on any Amazon, whether Spanish, German or UK is the 'Item model number' through which you will find the detailed specification of the laptop on psref.lenovo.com.

It states RTX 3050 in the blurb

I received it yesterday. Anyone ever experienced Lenovo warranty before? Was supposed to be 2 years premium. I went to check the warranty status and a little over 1 year left. Laptop was sealed. I used the Lenovo support chat bot and it says their warranty counts from the date it was shipped from the factory to the retailer etc.. which was August 2022 in this case. For me it's crazy. Not a big issue, at least there is still over 1 year left but I didn't expect that.

Let me reassure you: this is the case with all Lenovo laptops The warranty is calculated from the moment the laptop is distributed from Lenovo to the shop. If the customer purchases the laptop, he/she must update this warranty himself/herself by sending Lenovo a confirmation of the laptop purchase. (edited)

The price is now 740 I think . Just bought one.

    Crazy!
I'm attempting to cancel the order from yesterday and purchase again. Lets hope this doesn't mess things up, as I was happy when it was the original price.

This or the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED UX3402ZA?

Let's start with the fact that 14" and 16" are laptops for completely different people.

This seems a good spec and price compared to what is available right now, so why the lack of
    heat?

Don't these have problems with hinges after while
    Adzy.Padzy's avatar
Don't all laptops. Hinges cost a few £'s from a 3rd party supplier and a couple hours to fix.

I could never quite tell if there is a fundamental difference between this and the Ideapad 5 Pro, with seemingly a lot of overlap. This Yoga Slim would usually cost a lot more, but has this screen option with higher brightness and refresh than the best 5 Pro (350nit & 120Hz). I did buy the 5 Pro for similar money to this late last year and have been very happy with it. The even better screen on this means it has heat from me.

Is there anything better than this for the price? Dedicated laptop with a slim design. Not a gaming laptop?

There isn't, touchscreen aside, finding one with 500 nits brightness and an R7-6800 that has a 680m iGPU and at this price borders on the miraculous.

On top of all the points mentioned above regarding good spec for the money etc this even has a numerical key pad which these days is difficult to find in itself!
    whitman_the_cat's avatar
It's something I would expect to find on 16in+ sizes, as I like to have it too. Though it is polarising, such as with the off-centre keyboard comment above.

Back in stock now at £740

Yes, the offer was already available with the updated price, but the Mod expired it and took the price back to the original one, because it dropped by more than 5% (edited)

Booked the day off work so I could be in for delivery of this laptop. When it arrived I opened the box to find it full of cling film! Never trusting Amazon for high value items again! I am fuming. (edited)

Yes, there were such problems with the hinges, the same in the Legion Y-series. The unlucky one was the year of production, as both were released in the same year. Later, of course, this was stiffened up.

I have the last gen of this laptop. I can vouch for the performance, getting above average performance out of those chips for both CPU and GPU. Screen is great, can edit simple 4K video without lag. One thing that does bother me though is the fan noise, it has a mind of its own and does randomly spins up, unlike a Dell XPS which is almost always quiet under low load. If you do buy please check build quality thoroughly, my first unit had wobbly track pad and wonky hinges, and it took Lenovo 2 months to send me a replacement. So after all I was only happy because it was affordable.

Have you updated the bios? Things like that are usually fixed after an update or two.

Checking the link in the OP, and through psref.lenovo.com, this is speccd with the RTX 3050. Seems to have 2 years of 'premium' Lenovo support bundled in free too.

I've been looking for a new desktop with sufficient grunt to run some 1080p games, occasionally. However, this, at this price, has caught my eye....didnt think a laptop would be in this price range. Heaty. (edited)

Now it has dropped even more, down to £740. I canceled my previous order and bought it again with new price.

Bit of a strange combination to have a 3050 graphics card and integrated Radeon 680M graphics, unless it can swap between?
Nice CPU though, bit of a beast.
  19. fiqqer's avatar
yes it can switch between, the inbuilt one for less demanding tasks and the 3050 for games and video editing. This way battery battery life is optiimised.

Wish the smaller version was cheaper. I don’t really want a 16” one for travel
