Yeah I've read parallels is good, I'm an electronics, rf, electrical engineer and everything is Windows based. I need direct hardware access for programming/interfacing/developing, sometimes even have to use DOS depending on the age of something I'm working on. I really do not know if I can do everything in emulation, it's tricky enough with a x86/64 based CPU.

Incredible machines mate. I've installed parallels on mine to use Windows. It's pretty quick also, like using a native machine. What's your main usecase for Windows?

If I didn't have to have Windows I'd get a Air/Pro. They look incredible bits of kit and lovely displays.

Glad I didn't order this in the end.. Went for an MacBook Air m1 instead.

My condolences :(

Ah missed this - Definitely want a 14inch metal laptop. This has gone up to £674.85 now! Bargain at 484.01 for those who got one. Any recommendations for something similar?

Sad face That would be the i7 model that is listed as 512GB.

The question about SSD size was asked on the amazon page and someone posted a video response which showed 512GB. RAM not upgradeable sadly.

Thanks Sandroid, will keep it as 256GB so if anyone should order they won`t be disappointed ;) Saying maximum supported is 8GB in the specs rev6

Well, no time machine, no better deal but... the issue is not the price but the fact that the machine has a lot of issues, especially heating ones.

rprp: The 4k 1tb 16gb version of this has been £999 with £200 cashback in the past, making it a net £800. Computers tend to get cheaper over time... Well, they do get cheaper if people wouldn't be so naive like this op who thinks this is a deal.

72% of the theoretical NTSC colour space (it was never actually used) is just the weird way some companies have of expressing full coverage of the sRGB spec that most digital content is produced for. Wide gamut screens have their place, but there's nothing wrong with something that sticks to the standards. But the memory is an issue.

Almost a £1000 for 8GB of solder ram, no expansion and 72% NTSC. Dear oh dear!

I had a yoga tab 11 for a week and a small tumble saw if crack very badly. The customer service isn’t great and I’ve since made a return. These are good looking tablets and the kickstand is great, but they aren’t very hardy

p I've had my Lenovo Yoga Tablet for 5 years now and it's still running well with Windows 10

Pity it's Lenovo... My 3rd Lenovo tablet gave up few weeks ago (won't charge or turn on). I bought 2 Lenovo yoga tablets recently and those still work but when I'm thinking now how its even possible that those just gave up - one after a year?! Every tablet has been gently used in a super protective carrying case. Before lenovos we had old Tesco nook which we sold after few years. Lenovo = planned obsolescence?

That's roughly my position, got a samsung phone with DeX support but it doesn't support high resolutions (5120x1440, highest I can do is 2560x1440) and it's broadly fine but a few apps don't play ball (reolink) and running nvidia gamestreaming and discord at the same time is worse than a desktop due to lack of keyboard shortcuts in discord. Meanwhile a surface go 2 is great while docked if a bit slow. It seems sensitive to touchscreen interference while plugged in, lots of phantom touches. The only touch optimised app I use is the calculator! Still you know what to expect from windows.

I have Windows, Android and Apple tablets, Windows tablets are profoundly awful, using Windows in touch mode is like eating M&Ms on a rollercoaster with chopsticks. And it has zero decent tablet apps. Apples IOS is ok but it is so limited you would be pulling your hair out to do anything productive with it as a pseudolaptop (it cant scale to widescreen on an external monitor). My recommendation is a Samsung Tablet with Android as it has Dex mode which is as close to a desktop laptop you can get on a tablet (also has good multi-monitor support).
