Bear in mind although this is called the "Yoga" it doesn't 360 flip like other Yoga's.

Stupid name imho. Nice laptop otherwise.

Pretty much silent but I've never tried anything too intensive on it like gaming

What kind of videos can you edit on this? I've used macs previously and open to windows but see it as inferior, weak processor etc. Somebody want to educate me on this?

what kind? with windows you can only edit videos about wildlife

i believe windows allows you to work with similar kinds of video file types if that is what you mean...i am not an expert in video editing tho (very basic experience in windows)...but
the new macs m1+++ processors are faster than intels. also a mac is probably a better bit tho because it is better quality and reliability all round. if your happy with mac probably best sticking with it!
Macs also are somewhat more colour accurate (than this laptop shown), and come with free software necessary for making videos etc.
in fact the only real reason i would probably get this instead of a macbook air m1 (at only a few dollars more), is that this has a bigger screen, the macbook air at 13.3" is bordering too small (for me personally) width wise. (edited)

Returned it today. Screen flickers in 120Hz. Updated all drivers, bios, graphics driver etc, just flickers away in 120Hz. Not sure if it was just faulty or not.

Really getting fed up of screen sizes on laptops!! Even 14 inches is too big tbh but manageable. Why make this 14.5???
How are you supposed to carry this around trains and airports??? Laptops are supposed to be portable!!!

Calm down dear, there's a market for all! Not all laptops are designed for you, so you can carry them around on trains and laptops! But I guess that's the problem with tunnel vision, you can't see beyond your own requirements and what the wider public also want & need!

Hoping the offers for the Ryzen versions come back around again... Much stronger graphics, and better battery life.

They're on offer, albeit £200 off for 6800HS and £250 off for 6900HS. That's probably the best price we'll see in a while. A bit unfortunate they've discounted the Intel more - likely because it's less favourable since it's 16GB soldered (1.5GB of which is reserved for graphics)

How will this handle gaming? Eg football manager..

Football manager will run smoothly with this. The xe graphics on the 12th gen H-series are quite good for casual gaming.

I have this laptop, great price for it. I paid more for an "open box" one on curry's ebay clearance

This or the Ryzen 7 6800HS with 32GB of RAM and dGPU which is also on sale for £1,099? Read reviews that the 12700H thermal throttles and the 16GB soldered RAM is a bit of a bummer :/

I have tried compiling on mine and it's extremely fast with the H series processor (24Mb cache).  The cooling system is also very good with dual fans and good vents.  I think you'd have to push it pretty hard for an extended time to get any throttling.  I don't play any games or do video editing though, just compiling code and typical use.  It's a *really* nice device for this.

Why would you want to do that? Especially on a £700+ machine?? Is windows not ok for you?

Their business laptops (Thinkpads) are amazing, almost indestructible. There's also cheap consumer stuff that doesn't last five minutes and they don't care. This range is somewhere in the middle...

    120 hz screen
    16 gb ram
can put manjaro on this thing
also windows 10 is pretty damn good

purchasing an apple product is already an IQ test but when i see very good laptops like this, at better prices.... i honestly dont know why anyone would buy the fruit

well lenovo have some poor customer service reviews on reliability/aftercare, and i am reading on this site of the many people having issues with some of the other deals.
such as, if it goes wrong it seems you get it back in a worse state than when you sent it back for repair...

if anyone has actually got the unit or similar , maybe they could prove me wrong,.,, (edited)

They seem to have very similar designs across a few brands now, I've just got a Dell 5570 and it's very similar shell to my friends Microsoft brand
