Using the 15gb Lyca deal for 90 odd pence a month and the signal isn't that bad for my part of the country.

Same, do you know how much data roaming do we get when in Europe?

    Stay away from Lyca!
I have purchased their SIM and ported my number in and they completely cocked it up!
Now my mobile number has been disconnected from the old network (Smarty) but it has not come through to Lyca, it is hanging somewhere in the vain.
I can`t get Smarty to do anything as the number has left their network and Lyca CS is an absolute shambles!
20 calls for 10 mins each, 20 emails - nothing!
They either do not understand English or have no clue.
I have lost my long running number now.

    You have been warned !
    Good luck! (edited)

That sounds like a nightmare, and is the main reason I'm hesitant to change.

Hopefully you can get your number back.!

signed up to the smarty deal at the weekend (50gb for £8), so will stick with that but this looks good and deserves some heat :-)

Heat for the price but as customer services I've stuck to smarty that I was already on. I ordered a Lyca SIM to see what signal/data speeds were like in the area as I live in a valley, luckily I never transferred my number as they never actually added my package to the SIM (they were quick enough to take the money) and when I contacted customer service and they were useless and did nothing. Luckily for me I had heard bad things aboutt Lyca so I decided to use a disposable card with Revolute and I just cancelled the card stopping future payments so I only lost 1 payment

Can't recommend Lyca - I had a 6-month deal and after a couple of months they didn't take the payment (they said my card had expired, but it hadn't) and they then said that meant that the deal I had was voided and I didn't have a working phone until I either paid for their full bundles or transferred to another network - which is what I did but it meant a few days without a working phone.

I'm sure I've read on the forum about others having the same thing happen. So I'm not going to trust them again as it's a lot of hassle suddenly being left with a non-functioning phone with no warning and then having to move elsewhere.

Stung many times by the same problem on numerous SIMs. I think it's a deliberate ploy to get you to buy a bundle at full price out of desperation. Classic bait and switch, but more nefariously executed.

I've now decided to use Lyca purely as a one-month purgatory to transfer back and forth with Lebara.

I used their Aloturka SIM deal on holiday in Turkey, and they were really impressive. I am still using the sim at home for the moment, but I am going to put my contract SIM with three back in soon. I honestly have been impressed with the service considering the price and would consider them in the future. I do think their customer service is a bit difficult, but so are three mobiles at times.

Bought the deal here last time but sums stopped working suddenly after a month, even though I set up direct debit and switched my numbers contacted them and they said I have to reorder a new sim to get the same package, I was like how an I supposed to get the number switch, I just moved my number to another network but worth the headache tbh

They suddenly for no reason 'couldn't take my monthly payment' so I immediately lost my cheap plan.
Also couldn't get my PAC my text. Got it from a phone call from them but only after they tried to convince me that I shouldn't leave their service. I think they probably try this with lots of people which is in fact illegal and can be enforcible by large fines now.
