    Imo you are paying a lot for the smart functionality.(I'm not at all against smart functionality, I just don't think it's worth the extra cost for some things)
    Ones with timers and or remotes can be had for half this price
    E.g. £12 similar design, same capacity

    I agree it’s a niche product but I do love having all my stuff smart and as a HomeKit user things are never too cheap with Siri integration so this is a good price for those who like it, thank you for the alternative option link!
