I bought this from Amazon last week as an upgrade to my quest 2. I was really disappointed at how little difference there was between this and the quest 2.
the price difference between them is seriously not worth it, £436 for the quest 3 and £175 for the quest 2. I would definitely recommend the quest 2 @£175 from John Lewis. Save yourself a fair bit of cash as it’s really not worth it.

Hi, I wouldnt mind giving the quest 2 a go, my daughter (only 10) been mithering for one and has offered to pay out her savings, due to not being able to get Taylor swift tickets she wants to watch the eras tour on netflix through it do you know if that's possible? And would the overall experience of games etc be good for her? Thanks in advance

Go for pico 4 comparable and cheaper.

I think you need to look at the game catalogue, that may help you decide. If you are only doing PCVR then I agree, the Pico may be the better choice but, if you want stand-alone play, then the Quest has a much much bigger catalogue.

Meta have now opened up the Q3 to third party vr HMD makers, so expect to see cheaper versions of this appearing soon from the likes of lenovo and such.......maybe even some third party will bring out a oled version, that would be a real game changer.

Still will be a while before we see them tho.

I bit and ordered one Quest 2 the other day with the Amazon deal. Honestly is a bit underwhelming in terms of visual quality. But it is fun and worth it if you are into rhythm-fitness games like Beat Saber, Synth Riders or Pistol Whip.
Do not forget to use referrals for the app store and the headset itself! Free money!

Take a look at the Quest Game Optimizer? But yeah, visual fidelity on a mid/low range Android phone strapped to your face will never be next gen. It seriously ups it's game when stream from a gaming PC so it becomes pretty obvious it's the processing power that's the bottleneck, which is to be expected.

If you want a FULL immersive experience go for Quest 3 - huge difference compared to Quest 2, worth the extra price.

Friend of mine has used the quest 2 for years and upgraded to 3, he reckoned it wasn't immensely different and whilst he could see some improvements he felt it wasn't worth the extra. I have quest 2 but yet to try quest 3 myself.

If you like dungeon crawler games i can recommend Dungeons of Eternity(On quest 2 or 3) me and the other half have just lost a whole day to this game today. Worth mentioning the quest 2 has nearly twice the battery life of the quest 3 playing this today.

Need to edit the title. More clickbait than the Daily Mail.

I updated mine to v64 yesterday. I still really hate using it but I want to use it for some exercise apps. I wish I had kept my Quest 2 but it is what it is. If you have a Q2 I would advise don't bother upgrading and wait for a Q4. Unpopular advice but correct advice.

Tried to price match this with curry’s but they won’t because the code isn’t on studios website

Quest 3 supports mixed reality. I sometimes use mine at the gym 💪
  15. GrabbaBargain's avatar
Been considering a Quest 2 for gaming and looks like the only major benefit of the Quest 3 is full colour passthrough for mixed reality, so if only interested in VR rather than mixed the Quest 2 is best bang for buck, and looks like it'll be offered alongside the 3 as the entry level option so should see a lot of deals under £200 if not in any rush.

The quest 3 has significantly better pancake lenses with a much larger sweet spot and a wider IPD range. It's also much more powerful and has WiFi 6e, which will slightly improve pcvr streaming. The quest 2 is still a great device for £180 though. (edited)
