Just to note, Windows 11 23H1 doesn't support the Surface 5 Pro. You can install an earlier version of Windows 11 if you want, but it will not take the 23H1 update or later. An 8th gen Core processor is needed, which came in the Surface Pro 6.

Rufus USB has in built options to bypass these requirements.

Windows 11 works fine for me on my Surface Pro 5

Not ever from this retailer. Take a look at the comments on previous deals to find out why.

17 negatives with 4620 positives over last 12 months suggests the retailer isn't that bad.

Good price, although you're looking at a battery that is potentially shot, and replacing it is far from easy.

Pro 5 is 6 years old, I imagine the batteries on these will suck lol

Are these any good for music software? Traktor or rekordbox?

    Interested too!

Doubt it would handle stems though, that hammers the RAM 😯

Is it worth buying one of these? If yes, which derivative would you go for? Not intending to heavy use, browsing, movies, doing training course on it.
    Any thoughts?

Definitely worth it for light computing tasks. The only issue is battery life. That was never good to begin with and with devices this old it's even worse. A real lottery. So if you need decent battery life I would say no, but if you can keep it plugged in then by all means go for it.

Is that good for someone doing GCSE? or a more conventional laptop is a better option?

I'd say a traditional laptop is better. This doesn't come with a keyboard (unless you add about £50).

Would this work as a digital photo Frame. Most important thing is good picture quality from wide viewing angles and ability to do a random slideshow.

Might be able to point the screen saver to a folder of pictures 🏻

Check out this thread about gaming on the Surface Pro 4. The 5 should be even better.

Bought one of these recently, pretty impressed with it so far, only use it as a coffee table device for light demand activities such as streaming, browsing and word processing .

Bought a cheap condition B type cover from CEX for £22.

In all honesty it easily meets my demands for 99% of cases, if I need to do anything more demanding such as photoshop or light room I’ll boot up the desktop.

Just destroyed my Surface Pro 4 because of this. Updated a bunch of drivers not really knowing what I'm doing, to fix the flickering issue. Now it won't get past an error screen when turning on 😁 I think they've resolved it in later models but I wouldn't touch this

I picked up one of these from this seller when they were £185 back in November. Brilliant bit of kit and I highly recommend at this price. Great for basic web surfing and tasks.

Don’t bother with this. Super old now.
If you really want tablet windows. Go for Dell 5285 or 5290. If it doesn’t come with keyboard or pen, it doesn’t cost a lot to buy it.
