Mizuno Wave Inspire 18 Running ShoesThe Mizuno Wave Inspire 18 is a premium stability running shoe, designed to offer added support and underfoot protection to every run.

AIRmesh Upper
Constructed using an AIRmesh upper, the Wave Inspire 18 provides the utmost breathability and comfort. Ensuring a constant airflow, the design of the upper keeps you cooler and drier for longer, especially during tough runs. The engineered mesh ensure you remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. With Mizuno's integrated DynamotionFit technology, the Wave Inspire 18 is tailored to fit like a glove, it works to adapt to the gait cycle allowing for a more personalised, seamless fit as you strive for new PB's. The shoes feature a medial support system, to help prevent over-pronation, keeping feet more stable during running. A recycled PET shoelace, lacing system makes it easy to secure for a comfortable fit. As well as this, a soft and padded tongue and ankle collar will reduce the risk of irritation caused by rubbing and chafing.

Mizuno Enerzy Midsole
A combination of highly technical fabrics and constructions provide you with enhanced comfort and cushioning. The main technology enhancing the performance of the midsoles are the Mizuno Enerzy, which is soft and responsive, ensuring it provides a supportive function to avoid overpronation. The new redesigned double fan-shaped Mizuno Wave plate works in perfect tandem with Mizuno Enerzy to guarantee higher stability from landing transition, whilst providing an overall softer and more responsive running experience. Mizuno Enerzy has been developed with the mission to enhance performance capacity and guarantee that athletes retain more of the energy that they put in. All whilst providing an overall more comfortable feeling. Alongside this, an U4ic compound provides lightweight cushioned rides with a high level of rebound, and Premium Insock ensures additional comfort and cushioning when or if you might need it.

X-10 Outsole
The outsoles of the Inspire 18's are made with a new construction of X-10, the most durable carbon rubber that allows for longer wear in high impact areas and supplements traction at heel strike. This helps to lessen the impact placed on the knees and joints, allowing for a more comfortable ride as well as optimising gait efficiency. The outsole also ensures maximum grip and traction for a firm, assured footing so you can run with confidence and push yourself to the limit, time and time again. The midsole and outsole technologies work together with SmoothRide technology to provide a fluid, rocking-chair-like transition. As the foot hits the ground, SmoothRide Engineering kicks in with heel flex grooves promoting a natural back-to-front movement. The forefoot flex grooves and flex controllers then work together to continue the smooth forward motion resulting in an efficient fluid motion that allows runners to harness their power.

Bought a fourth shoe to add to my rotation

Brooks glycerin gts 20 I bought cheap have been my favourite

Hokas I paid the most for are giving me knee pains and I also bought some ASICS that I bought for over £100 but again are ok but not as good as the brooks so I’m now buying different stability trainers so I can train and compare to get my own idea of what brands give me better quality in my runs

What model of Brooks do you have? I have hoka bondi 8's and Clifton's but interested in finding a pair even more comfortable.

Yeah thought about getting a pair of these myself a little while ago...but ended up with some different ones can't remember but I think these were neutral and I over pronate....anyway got my daughter some mizunos and she's happy with them

Think they were maybe a couple of quid cheaper on sports pursuits but I know how people on here love that site

.... personally I'd rather get these over the usual ASICS ones that get posted on here a lot (edited)

These are for over pronators - I've been using them for years from (I think) version 7 or 8 and currently have a pair of version 12 and version 18 too - They're a steal at this price and so I've bought a pair just to keep in the cupboard for when my others wear out! Heat added!

    Ordered, heat

Great shoes, got several pairs of wave inspires and never had any issues with them

Prefect time for an upgrade of my old wave inspire 12, lasted me for 7 years odd and done at least 854 miles recorded on them past 4 years (thanks to my gt2e watch)
And this is cheaper too by 20 quid when i bought the 12.

I stand corrected...they are ok for over pronators

Great all round shoes, Mizuno is a very reputable brand, I would say this is good for beginners that want a shoe that does it all

Ordered, gonna give them a try for long / base runs. Usually wear Pegs but been disappointed in the 39's and 40's, found them to have a really hard ride with little cushioning compared to the 38's.

What's the toe box area like ? Narrow or wide? Also do they need to be broken into
    Viva_Elbonia's avatar
One of the widest toe boxes. Really comfy. I'm tempted to order a second pair. The right size shoe shouldn't need any breaking in. Great price for a very good running shoe.

    Is code expired?
  16. lorro.redrof's avatar
Says code is invalid. Great deal though

Sounds like this code is expired but you can get another 15% code by entering your details here (or a fake email as the code is shown after you enter your details). Unfortunately it's for a £50 minimum spend so you'll have to add something else to your basket.

This doesn’t work for that particular product either - think they disabled it

You can get 15% off a £50 spend using that code. It was posted in the comments if you scroll down. You need to add something like socks to take it over £50. Better getting something for free than paying the postage

Sportsshoes customer service is terrible. I tried claiming on the guarantee on some Hoka shoes I bought from them, as the soles were falling apart after just 100K. They wasted my time saying they were not covered "under the manufacturer's warranty". Funny thing is that I went directly to Hoka and they honoured it, despite not being a direct sale.
