Air conditioners - get one before the summer obviously and this looks like a good one in terms of the quoted noise level of 47.5 dB. I've been tracking this for a while and it's now at the lowest it has ever been.

I unfortunately bought it at £190 only last week but managed to get a credit refund on the difference from amazon :-)

It'll beat my heath robinson contraption of a fan strapped to a sledge face down onto a bucket of cold water.

    Haven’t owned an air con unit before, what do people tend to do with the hose? Seems a bit counter intuitive to have a window open letting the hot air in. Is there something else I can do with it?

    Have a look at picture 5 of the deal, second from last. Air conditioners like this usually include window kits, so you can hopefully seal all the gaps.

    The usual porkies on sound level measurement, see the energy label for the real number (62dB)

    (That said 62dB is lower than average, usually see 64-66. OTOH this is only 8000btu) (edited)
