    Once a great name in Bmx, now a Mike Ashley special.

    Their guidance for frame size.
    S = 5'1 - 5'4.
    M =5'4 - 5'8

    Looks great for the money, nothing to retain the chain if you take it off-road but I'm sure you could fit something to assist with that but it seems to have an ok fork, decent freehub based gearing and hydraulic disc brakes. The crankset looks a basic riveted steel plate type, fairly basic but it does give 3x gearing range but not ideal to say the least for off-road use.

    Looks like a basic Microshift rear derailleur fitted but you could replace it with a Microshift Acolyte if you wanted to take the bike more seriously off-road as a beginner's real mountain bike. You'd need the shifter as well due to the unique pull ratio. Others might be able to recommend a clutch rear derailleur that is 8 speed compatible with Shimano pull ratio shifters. No quick answer by googling. (edited)

    RRP is £350, so quite a good discount. (edited)

    Basing anything on RRP leads to being ripped off. Have you got a £200 Oral B toothbrush too?

    First decent ‘cheap’ bike that’s been on here in a long long time. Great price and a proper discount compared to most discounts we see these days.

    This or 250 on a second hand bike?

    Also this seems to be a bigger discount evanscycles.com/bra…458 (edited)

    They are near identical so might as well save £10 by getting the mongoose

    No mention of the spec. Make of the groupset, gears, etc
