I will always add this caveat to these machines, especially the Vertuo which has you locked into Nespresso pods. If you drink 2-4 cups a day in total, over a year it gets very expensive. My wife and I drank 4 cups of coffee day, 2 each, on average and this cost over £900 in pods in a year. With such costs the upfront price of a good bean to cup offer better overall value because the per cup cost is significantly less, and the coffee is better. As a pod machine the coffee is very good, but man can it be expensive! (edited)

Id suggest getting the "like new" Vertuo Next. Superior machine and £20 less. I also got full warranty and signed up to Nespresso for free pods

EDIT: Oh, and it also came with the free "taster" pack with about 16 pods in it too.

Although none are what you could call attractive, the one the op has listed looks a little nicer with a Chrome lever and solid metal(as opposed to plastic) and chromed cup holder, and doesn't have the Tefal head look of others 😃 (edited)

Pods for the original Nespresso are now out of patent and much cheaper as both pods and machines can now be made by third parties. The L'or machine by Phillips is a good buy, with discounted deals posted here. Lots of cheap pod deals on Amazon.

Is this 15 or 19 bars pressure please? Does it take stainless steel generic Ali-express capsules that one can fill with coffees if his liking or the capsules are Bar-coded? Many thanks!

Don't know about the pressure but the Vertuo is still under patent so no third party pod options available.

We've replaced our one of these today. Had it for around a year, really temperamental. Has the ability to take all convenience out of a pod machine, really quite impressive (edited)
