I'm definitely no cook, and no BBQ-er, but worth highlighting the differences between the US and UK models.
50686506-FR8by.jpgTL;DR: The UK model has a minimum smoker temperature of 120C / 250F - whereas the US model can cold-smoke. So you can't low-and-slow cook meat. Be aware when looking up US reviews of this.

You can stick it on dehydrate mode and ignite the smoke at 60°C

Cheaper at Ninja , sign up to newsletter or use a BLC code

Was wondering how to get a Ninja code, but this HUKD post gives some pointers: hotukdeals.com/dea…388

"10% off code from discount for teachers or cares site. Alternatively, leave product in basket for few hours and Ninja will send 10% or 20% off code."

I'll try this and see what happens - also tried signing up to the Newsletter.

I bought recently, and due to great British weather, haven't been able to use for weeks. Cant slow smoke, minimum 120 degrees. I've tried all sorts of pellets, none are good. I was hoping for a BBQ taste, but the wood smoke is not nice at all. Bought charcoal infused pellets, but have not been able to test yet. Just a glorified air fryer that has a heating element to smoke pellets. Huge waste of money imo.

This is not a (uk-style) “barbecue” and cannot produce that sort of flavour. The particular flavour from fat smoking after dripping onto hot coals/rocks directly below the food - the flavour doesn’t come from the burning charcoal! If you want that effect and it has to be electric, look at Weber’s pricey Lumin range.
This can do griddle grilling (like you might do indoors with a ridge-bottom cast iron pan) and we know that isn’t exactly like a barbecue.
In the US, Ninja now have a griddle-grill only device called Sizzle, but it is no more a barbecue than this is.

This Ninja IS aiming for US-style “BBQ” cooking - lowish temperatures and long cook time in woodsmoke.
    Does it deliver?
I’ve just done one cook so far and the jury is still out. It wasn’t excessively smoky, that’s for sure. But it was noticeably, pleasantly, different to cooking the same stuff in a plain airfryer.
On the smoker setting, it cooks surprisingly fast.
Shouldn’t be surprising really. Airfryer cooks faster than fan oven at the same temperature, because of the faster airflow. On Smoker setting, there is a significant airspeed, so, naturally it cooks faster than a ‘real’ smoker at the same temperature setting.
And that is assuming the thermostat is accurately calibrated… must check!
While 120C is standard for a BBQ smoker, we could do with less on this machine. But we can’t access temperatures between 90 and 120C. This is a rather bizarre mistake from Ninja.

UK style “hot smoking” asks for temperatures even lower.
Fortunately we should be able to access that by the 40/90C range of the Dehydrator setting, to which we can add smoke. Smoke at about 80C is expected for hot-smoking salmon. I think I might set slightly less!

The lack (or loss) of the cold-smoking facility (smoke but absolutely no cooking heat) is a BIG pity. Now, I can understand that some of those yanks might have no clue about food safety and do themselves a mischief. But that should be much less problematic here, with lower ambient temperatures and more of a cold-smoking culture.
First time I discovered this feature had been deleted was the first time I powered it on. Disappointed understates my feeling.

One can add (wood)smoke to griddle grilling and airfrying, but honestly I’m not sure about the point of that. Perhaps the the idea is to offer a single-unit outdoor grill, whereas I think it would be better supplementing, and certainly not replacing, a traditional barbecue. (edited)

I bought one of these and it was either faulty or rubbish. The smoker kept going out so I had to keep checking it, very frustrating.
I tried time and time again. Ending up sending it back.
Don't know if it was me or it was faulty but I wouldn't buy another.
I have other Ninja kitchen gadgets, which I love, but I was so disappointed with this.

ALL THE FLAVOUR WITHOUT THE FUSS OF CHARCOAL
Not voting either way, but how much fuss is charcoal exactly? And there's no way woodfire pellets can replicate the charcoal taste. Gino doesn't add anything either other than a gormless marketing photo (although, good luck to him as easy money).

Style over substance. Our simple £80 47cm Weber Compact still going strong 4 years hence and part of the fun is getting the charcoal alight and settled to even temperature.

It's difficult to know the truth with this product . I think those who take BBQ seriously wouldn't consider this and it's almost blasphemy, and those don't want the faff of a charcoal BBQ and just want something easy to cook on, love this device. There's no middle ground, but of the few who do want 'bbq' in a more serious sense and gave this a go, generally state disappointment with it, at least from what I've seen. I think this is an interesting product, something that can grill and smoke food, but I think it's deceptive to see it as a 'BBQ'. Ninja do make great electric cooking machines and devices and I've no doubt this can make amazing food, but bbq'ed...i doubt it. I did see a view point this is great at lo-slo smoking, but not seen much talk about that type of cooking on this. I'm not ditching my Kamado anytime soon. And, to go back to your point on fuss with charcoal, think it depends on the BBQ itself, my Kamado is easy peasy to clean out, my old BBQ was a nightmare, but that was a design issue.

Am I right in thinking this is just an outdoor electric oven with a smoke infuser? If so, seems like a colossal waste of money and unnecessary landfill. I can see a use case for camping though.
