Been keeping an eye on the switch deals as need to get one for my to be 6 year olds bday in April.

£260 seems to be the trigger price at which people buy one. Am I better off buying
from Amazon or The Games Company seeing as TGC would also offer you £6 of value from the points you’d collect?

I personal prefer TGC and the rewards points are a nice bonus you can put towards another game.

Also Amazon is saying delivery expected between 11th -23rd of April when I checked so depends when you need it for.

It will come down nearer Christmas, £220 I'll snatch

But that's missing out on 8-9months of gaming for £40

Get it from The Game Collection instead. It's the same price and you'll have it in a couple of days (edited)

Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Super Mario Odyssey are both pretty good as is Mario Kart. My kid loves Pokémon Arceus and Shield/Sword though I've played neither.

Mine just arrived despite being predicted near the end of the month. Box pretty beaten up/scuffed, would you assume a customer return or just poor product handling?
    THESMITH7's avatar
Mine looks like its a customer return

Tempting but still not sure if I should wait for Switch 2 although that isn't out until at least next year and no one knows solid specs on it I don't think.
    kratos2019's avatar
I would bet money switch 2 will launch between jan - may 2025.
The specs leaked are 1536 Nvidia Amphere gpu cores (the switch has 256) and 8 armA78 cpu cores with 8-12gb (knowing Nintendo it will probably be 8gb) its about as powerful as a steam deck but better RT performance and DLSS2 will likely give a bit better image quality. But expect a similar experience to the steam deck but better because of fixed spec optimisation. If u really need a switch its not a bad idea because u will be able to sell it without to much of a loss when the switch 2 releases. I wouldn't want to spend more than £200 now for an OLED though. Is it good for 11 years old or spend more on PS5?
    Jame_Lunty's avatar
Spend more and buy a console, they'll appreciate it more.

Tempted but this long into it's cycle, I'll wait for the switch 2

    It's all about the games, so if you're interested . . .
Launch model of the new console will very likely not have OLED screen

Oh wow. So unexpected. Fancy Amazon price-matching TGC hey

This tech is soooo outdated now it's kind of criminal to retain the price so well lol

My launch day Switch is still going strong and I think the console in general is getting a little long in the tooth now… the screen is exceptional on this though
