Pokken Tournament DX - Demo now available on UK Nintendo Switch eShop
Now available to download without changing your region!
Latest commentsPost comment

Nvm, it shows on news page

Can't see this on switch eshop to download?

Port of a mobile rhythm game. Mildly interesting, I'd say.

I've no access to the Switch right now but there should be another demo as well. The name slipped my mind so will need to find out. Begins with a V I think.

Edit - found it. Called The Voez. Have no idea what it even is. Lol

I traded this is to get Splatoon 2, it was fun for an hour but after that i found it a very boring game.

bryngreen16 h, 50 m ago

Sold this as found it far too hard

I had the same problem when I first got it, I was terrible and I got smacked and thrown around the ring repeatedly, even in the "just for fun" online matches. I'm not exactly heavyweight champion of the world now, but at least I got far enough to beat CPU lvl 4 for ranked online, and I can win around as many online matches as I lose.

The hardest thing to learn is to STOP PUNCHING! That's harder than it sounds when you're playing with motion controls. The game is called Arms but it's really about using your legs and your head. You only punch when you know you're going to hit and you know you won't get hit back. Once you get used to not punching you realise how much time there is for dodging and blocking and charging up your Arms, and you get used to which arms work at a distance or up close, which ones you dodge away from and which you can step inside the reach of etc etc. Then you get used to the different functions of the Arms, pick a favourite and go forth & own!

Not sure it would all click in a 1 hr session but sure have a go at the Test Punch and switch controllers (ie if you played motion before, play standard or vice versa) - the controls for both methods have certain quirks and switching it up forces you to change how you play. The fixed standard controller makes blocking and curving punches accurately difficult, so you have to focus on either your movement or accurate straight punches. The motion controls can affect your movement under pressure since you need to tilt both hands in the same direction, which is kind of weird especially immediately after a curved punch so you need to focus more on blocking and slapping away throws. Either way, you end up focussing on critical parts of your basic play, it's good for honing your instincts!

It's a good game. I'm not sure it's full price good, especially if you're playing single player, but it's a lot of fun and not a bad work out if you don't mind looking like an absolute tool in your front room.

After Zelda mario oddesy what other games are there to expect

Xenoblade, Kirby, Yoshi, 2 Lego games, Rayman, rabbids v Mario, skyrim, resident evil revelations 1 + 2, monster hunter xx, Rime, NBA and Fifa

Was unsure about this game but after watching a couple of YouTube videos picked it up. Better than I expected after looking at it briefly a couple of months ago. Really like the high score hook.

3rd game that was on my watchlist that has now gone on sale (Setsuna and Tumbleseed before that).

Fingers crossed Shantae or Wonderboy have a sale soon as well. Then again Rayman will give me my platforming fix for a long time and I'll have Sonic Mania up to then.

Majora's Mask on 3DS is a remake. Visually changed, with 3D, plus touch controls, new Easter eggs, changes to the town and the time system... it's not a port like the VC version.

Tempted by Metroid Prime Trilogy. Would prefer a physical copy but it sells for way beyond what I'm willing to pay for it

jamie199163 h, 7 m ago

Majora's mask is 50hz only; so it will play slower than the US version.

YEAH gotta be very careful when buying any VC game on the eshop as buying/playing any 50hz game aint worth touching as it play/feels like an abomination.

I can understand it a bit extra for the extra labour and reprogramming etc; does that warrant a 4x price tag difference? I think in this case it's a bit harsh, but there again most of Nintendo's price points are.

Also bear in mind this a 17 year old game; this isn't your run of the mill last-gen re-release.

I reckon that's horse sh*t, I used an R4 card in my original DS, and it coped with all SNES games I threw at it. I love Nintendo to bits, heck I have a Famicom Disk System, but their lack of crossplay type stuff is really burning for me. I get some people are ok with it, but ironically for me if it was one price, and I could play on my New 3DS, Wii U, or future Switch, I'd be way more inclined to purchase stuff, especially when I see it on sale

Okay, point taken but I woulda thought the 3ds coulda handled snes.

It can but Nintendo need to find a reason for people to buy NEW 3DS's and so this is the only way they'll let you play these SNES games.

Nintendo never do good deals or low prices. Even old games cost a fortune compared to PS4 and Xbox titles.

It's the main reason my WiiU gathers dust next to my PS4. I refuse to pay top prices for old titles.
