Have ordered several canvases and have so many problems with the frames. Have had to send back. Still waiting for refunds and then got another lot to send back once that's sorted. It's a shame as they used to be excellent
I've bought a few jigsaws from The works. Only had an issue with 1 where the pieces were a bit bent but they were willing to offer an new one :)
It almost seems to be down to the individual puzzle. We've had quite a few over the last year. Some are excellent, others are awful. I think they just use whatever factory they can find to make them at that time and its luck of the draw what you get. I just take as a risk with the works. Its a shame really as a few we've had have been excellent. Others can barely be assembled. No missing pieces (yet) thankfully!
Ahh... The Works. "It's nominally a bookshop, but it appears to be run by people who have deep-seated suspicion of books." - Stewart Lee. You're welcome.
Chose a few books last night ready, this morning they no longer stock them, a good deal deserving hest but this definiltey appears to be the works limiting what you can and can't use their offer code on

Why would children need this? They have amazing imaginations and probably build a den out of a bath towel and a clothes horse or if outside sticks and grass. All that is free, they just might need a little encouragement and time (y) . This is not something I wouldn't see value in buying, but that is only my opinion ;) . Don't forget, there is tons of resources out there to give you ideas to help children with activities, you just need to look for it :D
Bought this for my granddaughter a couple of years ago and she had hours of fun with it.
Voted cold, bought these and returned, they just don't stay together. You end up rebuilding every 10 minutes!
ordered yesterday, arrived today. Super quick that!
I found the modern stuff more boring as the cars have magnets on the bottom (or at least the set I tried did) making it really hard to spin out. The cars are also more reliable so less tinkering. I think the memories do play tricks too - Lets face it, it was exciting when you'd never driven a car/played photo realistic graphics on a console!
I had Scalextric in the 1980s and it was brilliant, had a huge semi-permanent setup in the loft. Can still smell the WD40 and the sparking brushes. Around 2010 I bought a kit, a bit like this one and it was rubbish. Is modern Scalextric rubbish compared to the older stuff? Or are my childhood memories playing tricks?
eBay item number: 402638871527
Is this mains or battery powered? Edit: just watched an unboxing video: Its mains powered (y)
LOL... Can you imagine buying this thinking its complete, then spending months reading them only to find there's more to (potentially never) come??! Seriously though, I doubt anyone would buy this set without knowing the saga of the final book(s)...!
£20 if you only want seasons 1-7.
This is a good point, people new to the series seeing this deal might think this is a finished series. Probably worth editing "complete" out of the deal title?
Every boxset of books we have ever bought. No matter how carefully you read a paperback and esnure you dont bend the spine they are no longer compact enough to fit back into the box. My mother had a gorgeous Lord of the Rings set when I was a child and the hobbit book couldnt fit in the box any more, shame.
