Come across to read this and thought this is worth sharing. What a beautiful geasture from this restaurant.

A Turkish restaurant in Leicester is offering free meals to homeless and elderly people on Christmas Day.

Saray Mangal in Highfield Street will be working to make sure no one eats alone this Christmas.

The 'Authentic Turkish BBQ and Meze House' is hoping to inspire people to "care for each other no matter what religion, race, culture or language".

From 12pm to 4pm on Christmas Day this year, the restaurant will provide a three course meal for anyone who is elderly or homeless and may otherwise spend the holiday alone.

I will do. There is other local charities involved in it too. There's a lot of homelessness in Leicester and many charities help as best as they can. Please do if you're down this way, the good is excellent! Thank you.
Fabulous idea. Heat from me.
Must be just me, but surely because you are alone and of a certain age doesn't make you worthy of a free dinner? There are lots of lonely people who aren't old. Whilst I recognise and applaud the sentiment I would rather see them asking those in the know to make referrals of who invitations could be sent out to.
Lovely gesture, if more restaurants or cafes could offer this, or maybe a mince pie & tea/coffee morning free, would help alleviate loneliness even for a few hours.
Seriously. Keep it to yourself if you want to help out also try doing it more than one day a year. Blatant advertisng and more are catching onto it as a cynical but effective marketing ploy. Great for giving out a bit of food on one day but it is only one day and why all the patting on the back is required?
so many good people out helping people thank you to you all
What a really lovely gesture, but more importantly, that's the mother-in-law sorted for Christmas dinner.
what a lovely gesture,

Agree, also are people only lonely or homeless on Dec 25th?
That’s Christmas right there....well done!
Its nice to see they are doing their little bit.

Not sure why people are complaining they are only doing it Christmas, they are a restaurant without income they shut down. Let them do something nice one day out of the year if that's all they can afford to do, and lets not criticise.

Heat added.
beautiful geesture
God bless em 🙏🏽🙏🏽
This is brilliant. Hope they fulfil it and hope they get loads of customers on the back of it. Best of luck.
What a lovely thing to do
it's good to see someone doing something positive (with some free publicity, and so what?) rather than pathetically complaining about someone else's attempts.
People with the kindest hearts are truly best with Thier actions at Christmas time thinking and doing for others who are vulnerable and lonely .. Puts a tear of joy into my eye ... God bless xx
Aww so amazing
Nice to know there are kind people out there, turned the heat up for support
Ohh that's nice
