By the way, some of the best sets on the market are veneered so I'm not saying they're cheap, nasty sets for that reason. My set at home is veneered, cost way, way below £1000 and is still going strong after 10 + years of use. My point is they are not really worth the money, you can get same quality or better for cheaper in any number of independent furniture stores.
If it's the same type of set I'm thinking of then the middle of the table is veneer (helps with expanding) and the legs aren't solid. Just a quick look at the picture shows the legs on the chairs aren't a very good match. It's cheap imported furniture.
I’d love to see your table if you think these are cheap and nasty. These are Solid oak, no veneer or mdf. I’ve had one nearly the same without the painted legs and a 10 seater for over 5 years and still looks new. Cost well over £1000. The only problems with these is food always always falls in the little gaps and needs vacuuming out.
These are cheap nasty tables, the quality is terrible.
I agree Les I should of explained better on this post, I happened to be in the store today and this deal with discount code wasn't mention. So I was glad to see this online, I was impressed at the end price even if they always mention they are on sale yet nearly all firms in this market are saying the same thing each season.
