It's national. Was £1.89 for ages then increased to £1.99 a few months ago

I used to work on the the morrisons deli counter, the corned beef that they sell that is sold sliced to order is really good quality, and i think you do get a good value product if you slice it thin if that’s how you like it. Worth trying the deli counters if you are using it for a sandwich, it’s much tastier than the rubbishy tins.

I agree. The corned beef does taste better than the rubbishy tins.
But if you put sauce on those tins it reduces the metallic taste

When did corned beef get so expensive?

I've just looked through Trolley, and corned beef varies between £6.10 and £22.50 per kilo. Whereas this £5.85 per kg, and therefore valid as a deal.
I can buy steak for less than some demand for crap in a can ! (edited)

it’s a wierd one but i’m glad they do as I constantly use the keys to unlock supermarket trolleys, i have several in my car and purse, very handy.

I love tinned corn beef....... Nice and thick in a white bread sandwich. Tomato sauce or mustard on top mmmm

Why we we still have to use a key to open these in the 21st Century ?

I'd sooner use a pound coin which I will get back to unlock a trolley than buy a tin of corned dog to use use the the key and throw the corned dog in the bin

It’s a catering size tin from Argentina, well it was when i worked there, about a foot in length almost. It’s usually kept with the cheaper meats like choppped ham and pork (not even cheap anymore) but it is genuinely good quality. I’ve always advocated the Market St deli counter meats and cheeses, they really excellent quality for a good price if you ask them to slice it how you like it and say how much you want to spend before you ask them to slice it. And it can nearly all be frozen if that’s something you would want to do.

Why has this dropped in price - there was a deal for a smaller can @ 35p the other day...

Does anyone know how they make this stuff? If you search for recipes to make corned beef, you end up with pickled brisket, and nothing like the corned beef we are used to
