A shame that anniversary is broken in some parts (Egypt obelisk jump) however I think it could be fixed by changing some graphical settings.
Underworld was so broken I couldn't finish it on my recent attempt.
Played 1 for the first time (in my mid 30s! As I was so scared of the darkness when I was a kid :S) worth a play.
Didn't enjoy 2 as much and didn't finish it!

Same mate, played through TR1 a few years ago with that ATI patch that makes it run nice on modern systems, bloody loved it, pure Sega Saturn nostalgia, then tried TR2 and couldn't get into it...

For anyone pondering, Guardian of Light is one of the best co-op experiences of the past decade for me. Great action and puzzles.

Bounced right off Temple of Osiris however, despite it having four-player.

I wish they'd release the original 4 games on Switch with proper resolution and dual analog support.

I absolutely loved the original, but the anniversary "remake" didn't really grab me.

For I and II, are the controls as awful and shocking as the original?

They are the "original" (pc versions).

which is the best pick out of Tomb Raider: Underworld or Tomb Raider: Anniversary? ive played all the reboot / recent ones and fancy giving one of these a go, played tomb raider 2 back in the day on ps1 too and damn it was a tough game haha!

Anniversary is a remake of 1 with updated visuals and some gameplay stuff lifted from legend (QTE things). It has a game breaking bug in Egypt which may take 30/40 attempts to get through (may be fixed changing vsync or something graphical)

Underworld is a new story but completely broken (mouse acceleration and jitter, really hard to control without headaches). I couldn't fix it on my last attempt and gave up.

Anniversary is good. If you want good gameplay and not a reboot then Legend is a good one too (and timeline wise slots before anniversary and Underworld)

legend is better but its still flawed in places.

the Crystal Dynamics games were all a step backwards, they all open well but problems start soon after.
