This is not the gradient version. This is one of the most overpriced smart table lamps ever made. Even at £90 it’s a joke. If it were gradient, £90 would be somewhat reasonable.

Looks awful. No design thought. And G rating for energy. (edited)

A G rating is very energy efficient. It might be worthwhile reading up on the new regs, because you and I’m sure many others have got confused on these new ratings.

The energy efficiency labels on the packaging of LED lamps has changed, and some LED lamps now have a rating of E, F or G but they are still very energy efficient!

An (old) A+++ is now a (new) D rated bulb, and in fact since 2021 (I think), you don’t get A+, A++ ratings anymore.

But let’s look at some numbers, this might help you work it out.

The wattage for most LED bulbs is around 12-14 watts maximum.

Price per kw is what? 34p I think? That works out at £1.00 for appx 210 hours use. Or, £0.05 for 10 hours.

If you add in the daily rate, I’d estimate the 34p would increase a bit, to maybe 45p or so.

For context, a phone charger is around 5 watts, or a washing machine at 800 watts. A tumble dryer can be upto 3000 watts, do you have one of those at all?

So, you can see that LED’s are extremely efficient, including this one. Hope this helps. (edited)

Indeed it does, but I believe the point of this design is to position it discretely behind some furniture, a plant or a speaker to give some backlight on a wall nearby.

Sure it can be positioned on a table, design and presentation are subjective, but I feel they are best used in the aforementioned instance.

    Each to their own. (edited)
