These look like the cheapest price per bulb (£12.49) for E27 white ambiance model. For those that say there are better cheaper alternatives out there, let me say that from experience, the Philips Hue stuff is rock solid. All my other 3rd party ones I've tried require too much time faffing around with custom setups, drivers, etc or have intermittent communication issues with the hub. The hue stuff just works and never misses a beat. But maybe that's a debate for another day/thread.

For now, this is hot for me

Only 800 lumen, the higher lumen bulbs are currently cheaper at Currys both as single and double packs.

These are the white ambiance version. This twin pack is priced at £35 on Currys unless I'm mistaken.

800 bear in mind, you really want the 1100 minimum as a single main light in even a small room.

Doubt anyone ever really has a single bulb in a room anymore. I've been recently refurbishing my living room so ordered 8 of these.

This is a perfectly acceptable price for OK branded smart bulbs so not sure why you went on the defensive.

Hue are not perfect but if you get on better with them that's all there is to it.

Theres a big anti-hue crowd similar to the anti-apple brigade who vote cold because of the brand rather than the deal. In this case, in my experience, the hue bulbs are actually worth the money due to what I said above. And even more so at this price.

Most people have a couple of lamps rather than one main ceiling light.
