    This or Quest 3?

The Pico is great for people who are new to vr but the black levels are very poor. Playing half-life alyx is a perfect example where the black dark shadows are very grey and washed out. Great resolution though if you're playing games like racing sims and flight Sims.

Wait there's more companies trying to break into VR? Because it's such a huge market? Lol

Not worth it. This platform is DOA. Rumours are they will resus it with a Pico 4S, but they keep floating between supporting VR and giving up on it.

I have both Q3 and this and the Q3 wipes the floor. The only advantage with this is:
    Comfortability
    Battery Life
FOV (Q3 has too much of a binocular view, whereas the Pico almost gives a 1:1 FOV)

Also for PCVR, You can only use wireless. I have a RTX 4090 and Wifi 6 Router right next to the headset. I always experience artifacts and other weird stuff. No issue on the Q3 as i can use the link cable.

Keeping the Pico though as its super super super lightweight and comfy. (edited)

Can't compare with the Quest 3 as haven't tried it but can use Pico 4 with wired PCVR though wired usb to ethernet (rather than usb to usb) may give better results.

I was going to say something similar to marcy921 (above). There's been a big software update recently plus the new Pico connect software (in beta) which replaces the terrible streaming assistant.

I mainly use it for PCVR, but also standalone with body combat and sports.

I'm surprised no-one ever mentions the built in fan? The lenses literally never mist up, whereas on my Q2 it's a PITA.

The Q3 is better overall, but for the money I think the Pico 4 is a great headset, especially if you're tethering to a PC.

    Heat added !

I am well behind the curve with VR, I've just bought a Quest 2 as I wanted to go in at the cheapest price point to test the water on SteamVR via Steam Link, so far I am loving it, even if I'm prone to losing my balance! Good news - no nausea!

    I prefer the Pico4 over the Quest2
much more comfortable and the new Pico Connect software is outstanding.
Quest 3 is on another level though.

i think there is another updated Pico4 s coming very soon with higher specs

Detailed review of the Pico 4 here, but in short it's really good and more comfortable than the Meta Quest 2 (also notably lighter). But platform support isn't as good and it looks like they might not continue with consumer VR in the long-term.

I particularly like it for wireless PCVR. (edited)

Very very good if you're just using it for PCVR. And the comfort of it straight out of the box cant be beat.

5 free games is a myth, never got mine filled the form and everything but just silence. However machine is good
    Hot-stuff-dealer's avatar
I got mine but agree that it's not a straight forward process. No form for me either. You have to set up a new account and they are automatically linked to your headset.

Bought this for £230 on black friday. There were stores selling them for £100 before Christmas also. This is probably because the Pico 5 is thought to be coming out in April/May. This price is a little high i think.
    russtyk's avatar
Are you sure there were stores selling these for £100? That seems too good to be true unless it was some wierd one off clearance offer.

Status of Pico 5 or any other future Pico headset is unknown at this point unfortunately.

I can't go full price on a pico4 so looking at either new MQ2 at £200 or a 2nd hand Pico4 for £220. It will be for PCVR so which one is the better option. The 2nd hand/refub puts me off and makes me think go for the MQ2.
