Umm. It’s a great price if this is your budget and the styling is what you hoped to buy.
I would, however, recommend anyone to really do some research before they buy a 9ct white gold ring as it will scratch to utter buggery in no time and, as for the diamond, it is not going to win any awards based on these stats.

i would recommend a higher carat of white gold to preserve that lustrous look, or just save more and get a platinum band instead.

nothing wrong with lab grown as they have come a long way in recent years.

A higher carat gold will actually scratch easier as it’s softer.

If anyone's looking for a wider selection, I've always had good luck at Diamonds Factory, which seems price comparable to these discount prices.

If you really love her, only a minimum of a VSI stone will do.

Bought a vvs1 12 years ago…. What i have learnt since…. You dont walk around with the gia certificate or a microscope… pick it based on how it looks - not its stats.

This would never be £2.5k. This is a 9crt LAB grown diamond. Stay clear. Not worth the money. You wouldnt set good diamonds in 9ct gold. (edited)

Why would you set good diamonds in low content gold?

Just to add, if you are comparing rings, there is a big difference between a 0.75ct diamond ring and a 0.75ct TCW (total carat weight) ring. A single 0.75ct diamond is worth significantly more than several smaller diamonds totaling 0.75ct so factor that in when comparing rings.

This one is 4 small diamonds put together rather than a single diamond.

Yes and small diamonds on the arms.. Each to their own - I have added the link at the bottom of this post which is to the full range on Tkmaxx where they have full diamond ones available too 🏻

Is this a lab diamond or not ? Anyone ?

This one uses natural diamonds - but I have listed a link to all the diamond rings on Tkmaxx some being lab at a cheaper price (edited)

The one posted is a lab diamond - it's stated on the certificate. They presumably all are. Get that these are chemically the same, etc. but any "value" for precious stones and metals relates to their scarcity so lab grown diamonds are really impossible to value properly. I would no way buy an expensive ring that's set in 925, and definitely not a lab grown diamond, but everyone will have a different view.

Diamonds have very little resale in ordinary sizes, clarity and colour - that's the De Beers con, they're not that rare. Only exceptional diamonds retain value. Lab created gems that are chemically identical are identified as artificial by their lack of flaws/inclusions.

A lot of jewellery value isn't based on rarity. Platinum is 10x rarer than gold, yet is worth less as everyone invests in gold.
  9. flex's avatar
Not that good value really as they are artificial and total carat weight rather than a single stone of the same weight. Even allowing for the increase in the gold price, the “was” prices look inflated.
    steve_bezerker's avatar
No such thing as artificial diamonds. Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds, Physically and compositionally identical to Natural grown, following the exact same process a Natural diamond goes through, only faster.

Coz nothing says "I love you...

...but not *that* much!" than a lab diamond.
    phoenician_sailor's avatar
Saw a documentary on this on Netflix and apparently there are lab diamonds mixed in with ‘real’ diamonds all over the place and it’s very difficult to tell them apart even as an expert. They also said that diamonds being valuable is just marketing because they’re not rare at all. Made me realise the whole thing is a bit of a scam designed to make us want to spend mega bucks on diamonds for this exact logic of the more £££ = the more you love someone.

Not sure if this is the same company, but if it is, all the diamond rings I've looked at on their website are 'I' clarity. Shame TK Maxx don't give more details about their rings!

    No gold gram weight, either.

The clarity will be on the report which is in the images on Tkmaxx.. Times are hard though and for someone wanting to propose on (dare I say it at over £700) “a budget” I think these are amazing value

HI-I2 clarity range for this one it states (edited)

Or make a day of it… go to the jewellery quarter in birmingham and save much
more … and have something bespoke.

Recently had to replace my wifes engagement ring… diamond fell out while on holiday - and was underinsured (as the value increased in 12 years) so had a cheque.

You can get 1.6+carrot  VVS1 lab grown on platinum bands for £1500. The natural stone equivalent were over £22k

Be prepared to be disappointed if you're expecting 9 carrots

Pretty unrealistic to expect 9 carrots at this price…
