    a) People have reported problems getting this to work with English language. Get the 'global' version if you want English for a few GBP more. aliexpress.com/ite…tml
    b) This is usually available at around this price anyway.
    c) You'll probably need screen protectors as people report the screen is easily scratched.
    d) Although this is better than many others, don't expect accurate step counting at this price point.
    e) If you do look at other listings, check that 1) the body colour AND strap colour are the ones you want, 2) the magnetic charging cable is included, 3) the wrist strap is included (if you want one), 4) that its not *just* the strap you're buying, 5) that its not the cheaper (rectangular) 'pro' version or the older version 7.

I have an older Mi Band 6.

    - The screen is durable, as is the rest of it. I don't have a screen protector, scraped it on various things, and there are no marks.

    - Step counting is very accurate, within 1% in my experience. It can be fooled by things like shaking a bottle, but they all have that issue.

    - The heart rate monitor is decent, not super accurate but it is enough to give you an idea of how much exercise you are getting.

    - The only real issue with it is that water can activate the touch screen, but firmware updates mostly fixed that.

    - Battery life after two years is still two weeks.

I really can't see why I'd want to spend any more than this. These devices are great and a quality product. Unless you are really serious about health monitoring, it does everything you need and more.

It does not track steps properly, missed loads. I returned mine.

Heads up, you won't have any warranty with these from AliExpress. I had a mi band7 pro that failed after 3 months. No warranty. Have since bought from Xiaomi UK. 2 yrs and I feel you need that with the latest versions.

I only use it for really cheap stuff, as ithe service has not been as good as it used to be.

Bad enough that its probably not worth wearing tbh

It's very good for the price and form factor. The only weakness is the switch from the Zedd app to Mi Fitness over the previous bands, the app is still very much a work in progress compared to what was there previously but the reality is it will improve as time goes on. (edited)

How is the Chinese version different from the global?
    majorwedgy666's avatar
Historically smaller battery but has NFC that we can't use in this country

Think it's time to update my mi band 4. Do the mi band 8 still work with zepp life or is it now using the worse mi app? (can't remember the name)

    mi fit still, no zepp
In the same basket (mi band 4 battery dying)

If you need something sooner the Mi Band 8 Pro is £49.49 from Xiaomi's website after coupons, HUKD listing here. Also the Redmi Band 2 is available for £13.49 on this eBay deal. (edited)
