Guess what... It's going back. I can't believe how poor the image quality is. I called customer services and they tried to fob me off with a wireless extender. I don't even want to try the ring 2 now.

I wonder what world some live in with the idea the bell cuts down crime in the manner portrayed, where some smarmy ring user passes sarcastic comments. In reality I'd expect later repercussions from such comments.

Ring 2 you can. Ring support led me to believe it was my WiFi connection that was causing the issues with Ring 1. Even sent me a free Ring Chime Pro (which since the last update has refused to connect to my BT whole home discs). Just waiting for Nest to drop in price a bit and will be selling off my Ring 2 and using that towards the Nest one.

Didn't realise how cheap and tatty the plastic injection moulding was on these. Wi-Fi issues even right next to Virgin router, didn't ring existing doorbell, even though tried two different power supplies. Returned for a refund. Will now try to buy anything but Ring to cover the holes I made installing it. It came quick from Amazon Now, and it went back almost as quick.

It's going straight back if it can't make out people's faces! Kind of defeats the object.

Great piece of kit, got one of these a year ago and use it regularly. Really quick to inflate.

Fantastic price, bought one a few months ago and thank goodness I haven’t needed to use it yet

A subscription for this, then the subscription for razor blades, soap and now the newest one I have seen..... socks! https://www.londonsockcompany.com/sock-club/ Not somethign that I am going to be part of.

Not sure what difference a sign makes. Show me a shop that does not have CCTV... from newsagent to takeaway to department store, I daresay some olde worlde shop somewhere is not relying on them, but its a small minoroty! Your choice of camera free retailer is getting smaller every day. Even if they haven't got cameras, your face is being snapped most of the way there and back, and now more and more cars have dashcams too following you as you drive.

Not the same.... They have to tell us they are using cctv.... Do you have a sign next to your data harvester?

Imagine a world where every shop you go in has cctv that takes your facial recognition too.....and you go in and spend money too!!!crazy I know.

Thanks! Will do. I'm pretty sure you'd be fine positing it as a discussion, rather than a deal.

I just remembered the HotUKDeals is quite fussy about posting relative unknowns on eBay or Amazon, even if feedback is good, so I'm not sure I'd be allowed to. Congrats passing the test! You're already in a better position than most with junk in the trunk. :P Spend a bit of time on car maintenance basics and you'll be very well set.

Does that date say 2013? Well of course if will be much cheaper if you wait half a decade

Great, thanks! Only recently became road legal so appreciate the advice. Please let me know if/when you manage to make the guide.

Glad it helped! In which case... My only real criticism of this kit is the torch, get a USB rechargable headtorch instead. They're cheap, don't need batteries, and can be charged practically anywhere. More to the point, almost anything you do with a car in the dark you'll want both hands free, so the included torch isn't much help. Don't know how I lived without one. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rechargeable-Headlamp-Headlight-Included-Resistant/dp/B01DNDMSLY/ref=sr_1_9?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1528041389&sr=1-9&keywords=usb+head+torch Amazon have endless very similar variations so I can't speak to that one specifically or the longevity, but you get the idea.

Battered Salt & Pepper Calamari Rings ( 400g) £1.49 @ Heron Frozen Foods
Found 2nd JunFound 2nd Jun
In date till 16/3/2019 Second Catch Battered salt & pepper Calamari in Heron for a squid 49 Never seen it before in there & it's a 400g pack

Had these in the larger B&M (Who now own Heron) in Barrow In Furness. I went in for some more Thai King Prawn fish cakes but had sold out :(

Young's seconds? When I was a student I worked in a fish factory over summer and all the nasty floppy and discoloured trout and salmon that couldn't be sold in fresh packs went to Young's.

I have some of those still, not had them yet. might do a meal with the Calamari as well :{

Rejects but no big deal. Still taste great. (y)

Great deal as the 2nd catch range is Youngs seconds normally . Have bought lots of different ones from Herons and all superb Some might be odd shaped or 2 pieces stuck together but the quality is still great .

Robert Dyas great offers on home security products - e.g Ring Wi-Fi Video Doorbell 2 £149
Found 1st JunFound 1st Jun
Best prices I've seen on the Ring 2 and other variants. Free delivery for anything above £50. Definitely good value for money.

Buying at Robert Dyas would only support a fantastic local store and their staff. Nothing wrong with ordering at Ring but if you can buy it local then that would invariably help towards keeping the high street open...

They are matching the prices on Ring website

Ring Satin Nickel Video Doorbell - 720p HD video, two-way talk, motion detection, wifi, Satin Nickel - £89 @ Amazon
Found 31st MayFound 31st May
Been looking for a Ring Doorbell and came across this.

Amazon now own ring

its currys pc world selling it not ebay.. besides you have more rights as buyer these days on ebay.. youd be surprised..

So is this :/ and I'd take Amazon with their stellar customer service than eBay.

Not much of a deal... going for about £89 See below https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122939852563

Depending on what video resolution is shown on the box (some state 1080p, instead of 720p) it could be a 'shortcut' to getting a Ring 2 in exchange for this.

Ring Wired or Battery Spotlight Camera - £109 (with code) @ Ring

Brilliant kit. Great quality but buy Floodlight for bigger area.

Now resorting to name calling. Nice one! (lol)

LoL ok u clearly are a idiot. We didn’t need 3 separate posts about a code especially from the same op. Anyway more important things in my life then u so take care

And I assume you're the master deal hunter as you're so quick to criticise others..... Let's look... Oh 2 deals in the past year. Wow thanks for you contribution to the site.

Abuse lol ok. Don’t be so soppy

It wasn't stupid. I was trying to be helpful. And you're opinion is wrong. Why in Christ's name would anyone really care if their deal goes hot? If it helps someone, then surely that's the point of the site. Your attitude and abuse will discourage people from joining and posting.

Town Mayor here on HUKD, well done mate!

Worked for me.... well kind of ;-) The code above was intended for people who work for (with) the Police in the UK. I contacted the online chat and they confirmed this and told me to place the order at £199 and give them the order number. about 2hrs later I've just received a credit back for £60 so that it cost me £139 for the floodlight :-). thanks to OP! I'm a town Mayor and work with the police. they said it was close enough so approved it. Thought this was worth sharing for anyone on here who is connected with the police and want to get the £60 discount. Cheers, Nick

Is it a good camera quality wise even if the lights aren’t on ?

Ring Video Doorbell V2 - Inc delivery only £89
Found 30th MayFound 30th May
An amazing product. It is not just a door bell. It's an amazing security camera. This is V2. HCSSC

The code is valid but not working on website. After a long conversation with sales team, they placed the order for £149 and then refunded £60. Thanks op.

Sorry! It did work when I did it.

Nah. ‘fraid it different work for me either just the ‘doesn’t meet requirements for the HCSSC discount’ . Looks like I’ll have to be grateful for the £50 discount I go the other day against what was a £179 selling price. Interesting how then RRP appears to have changed on the Ring website to £149 in line with the prices elsewhere.:/

Same problem for me too :(

Would have a great post, however discount no longer available. Thanks for posting anyway OP

This code has worked for a while now - got 2 at £149 each. The battery is pretty good but depends on how sensitive you have it (the app options are different for this that the spotlight cams) it’s on 43% and been up for about 3/4 weeks. The actual light is pretty bright as well.

Was £50 off earlier when posted. Was changed to £20 after

I get the feeling there are some new (cheaper with better Alexa integration?) versions on the horizon now Amazon will be throwing their billions at this business. Finding it hard but I'm holding off for now....

Have they changed it? I used the code too and it only applied a £20 discount taking the price to £149.

This is the exact message I sent to them, Feel free to use it (y) 🏻 Hi,I’m contacting you with regards to my Ring doorbell camera and an issue that has arisen. A few months ago I purchased the Ring one doorbell. Upon installation of the Ring Doorbell I noticed the quality of picture wasn’t as good as I had hoped given that the box clearly states it has a 1080HD camera. I undertook a bit of research to establish why the display was not as good as I had hoped and during this process discovered that the Ring doorbell camera infact only has the 720P camera and not,as stated on the packaging 1080HD camera!! Obviously this has left me very dissatisfied with my Ring doorbell purchase as I was led to believe by your packaging that it came equipped with a 1080HD camera?! Now I feel I was mis sold the Ring door bell camera with incorrect information which stated as the picture shows that it came with a 1080HD camera when infact it doesn’t. Could you please advise as to how this has happened and how as a customer I have been mislead into buying a product which I believed came with better camera than it actually does, also I’d like to find a solution to this as now I have got the doorbell which I was led to believe came with a 1080HD camera when it actually had a 720hd camera. Many thanks

I contacted them via chat, said they can give me 3months free subscription. I declined then I was offered 6 months free subscription, I said no..not happy about it.

Any advice on the script? I intend to set it up off the wall, sign up to the cloud and then start the chat.

Use the chat,avoid emailing them.

Managed to grab a V1 for £55. Box states 1080p HD camera so fingers crossed!!
