Seems a good deal, 950W PSU?? Thats insane. Out of interest for £600 would you go for a 3080ti or this?
    somerandomguy123's avatar
3080 owner here; I'd say it ultimately depends on what resolution and what sort of games you're looking to play. This is a bit faster (at less than 4k resolution) and has noticeably more vram; all in all, from a purely performance standpoint I suspect it will age a bit better than the 3080ti. The RTX has has the better looking upscaling tech (dlss > fsr), which I don't think it's a deal breaker per se but definetively gaining more and more relevance. I'd personally edge towards this, particularly because looking at 3080ti prices it seems quite a bit cheaper (tis seem to sit at £700 second hand)

ebuyer have this on their ebay store as well, £623.47 on there, but keep in mind there's the 20x Nectar points promo starting tomorrow so you'd get £30 back in Nectar points buying from there instead.

Wish you could apply the eBay code on this

internal airflow is going to be paramount inside your case to keep this GPU quiet, I have ordered this card, I have 6 internal 120 fans already (3 intake, 3 exhaust), I am going to fit another 2 fans below the GPU on the PSU shroud, I'll be happy to submit my finding in a couple of days or so and update this post

What’s the MBA or reference version like?

Considering the 4070 is a minimum of £590, for an extra £30 this is a great deal. Only negative is the soon to arrive 7800XT potentially being a contender here but no real concrete info on that yet.
    Minstadave's avatar
I agree this is the better card but the 4070 is substantially more power efficient.

Couldn't imagine dropping this kind of money on a GC. It took me some time to come to terms with a budget of £250 for a red devil 5700xt which grabbed £165 second hand on ebay a month ago.

    Dec 21 I ended up paying £2150 for my 3090 Suprim X.
Shocking price. But thought I could recoup some of the cost with mining.
Then came the massive rise in electric.
Now the 40 series is much cheaper and better
I did manage to recoup around £400, but a purchase I will try to forget.
Hopefully it can last me a decent amount of time 🤞

A word of warning, this GPU is loud AF out of the box. This is basically a heavily factory overclocked 6900XT. I had one, had to get rid as noise was unbearable. Same issue with my mate's card, he put a waterblock on it though.

I would either get a RTX 4070 or wait for AMD 7800/7800XT
    DrexGodar's avatar
Goes without saying that with a power draw of 350W, it's going to be on the louder side, unless the manufacture did an amazing job on the cooler...

But we are talking about PowerColor here..... lol

Anyone who managed to get a 3080 FE when it launched at RRP got the best deal in the GPU market, period. Every other card is either overpriced or poor performance for the value.
    FactProvider's avatar
    I got a 3060Ti for £200. MSI Gaming X Trio. I think that's a better deal.

No point spending £600 odd quid on last gen worse performing RT card (6950xt) and with 16gb vram vs the £799 7900xt with 20gb vram and RT performance on par with a 3090ti. Also newer card will be optimised to match the 4080 level performance through driver updates before too long. For £180 odd quid more the 7900xt is a no -brainer. Buy Right and Buy Once is my motto! Probably better to just buy a console at this rate

Ordered at 4070 Asus at MSRP today. Only play F1 , Cyberpunk & Flight Sim and frame gen is a killer feature for them.
Also 4070 has much lower power draw and fits in my ITX case.

The most pressing question is whether this GFX card runs Crysis whilst Bitcoin mining ?

£600 for a Powercolor card. Painful.
    DrexGodar's avatar
They shouldnt let PowerColor make high end cards, probably sounds like a leaf blower under load.... lol (edited)

a lot of negative comments on here about this deal, but what can you say, if you tie this up with TCB and Ebay 20 x Nectar Points (£619.99 on Ebay), you are effectively getting this for for £584, I cannot think of a better deal at this performance level for a brand new card with full manufacturer warranty

EDIT : They will also send out a redemption code for AMD Rewards (Last Of Us Part 1) via their Ebay store upon request (edited)

I bought a 6750xt from them for £373.... I wonder if it's worth returning to get this
    .. Hmmmm
    ceph042_'s avatar
Unless you do 4K gaming, and can afford to run it I'd stick with the 6750XT. Has enough VRAM to last a few years and is plenty powerful for most people. Plus the 6950XT is ~£250 more than the 6750XT you have. Those cards are going for around £409-449, so you've got a pretty sweet deal on it.

Dont forgot further 15% cashback with completesavings on their Ebay page. Currently £619, makes it £526.15. (edited)
    Potterified's avatar
So we go via Complete Savings to eBay, instead of cashback site like Quidco or TCB... And that gets us to a final price of £526.15?
  17. Manuel_Gonzalez's avatar
Prices keep crashing guys. Just saw a 6950x for 649 euros (less than £573) in Coolmod (it’s a pretty solid Spanish hardware store)

7900xt mba is a better deal imo heat added. (edited)

Not a good deal really. Prices still are messed up.

The past prices were so bad that this is an improvement but much more is necessary.

The 4070 spec wise is not that strong as it should be.
