I played through this on PS4 a couple of months ago for the first time and thought it was amazing. The gameplay reminded me of a lot of other good games such as Deus Ex, Half Life 2 and Hitman. The levels are really well designed and there are lots of ways to play each level. I would normally enter a fortress the hard way then discover the easy way on the way out. It also has an excellent and dark vibe to it. I loved the atmosphere as you sailed up to the start of each mission on the boat.

I had two playthroughs to get the platinum. It's a game I could enjoy playing a few more times as the levels are so fun. However now I have PS+ I feel there are too many games to play so I did move on to other things. I might go back and do the DLCs but will play Dishonored 2 and the spin off title before I do. The games are on PS+ at the moment.

I'd recommend playing the DLC (Knife of Dunwall & the Brigmore Witches) before Dishonored 2

Those DLC link into the story from the first game so the more you can remember about the main story the better in terms of appreciating them.

The Trials DLC doesn't matter so much those are just arcade high score type set pieces.

Best game, especially on PS3 & 360, to check for stick drift! The movement is highly sensitive, it will pick up the slightest drift

Awesome game and so replayable. Arkane at the height of their powers. A lot of content for 4 quid.

I really need to play throught these games. I did a few hours on 1 and 2 and neither the story, gameplay or characters grabbed me! Which is weird because I love these sort of games usually :/
