Good price, but I wouldn’t buy amd. I have the 7900 xtx and it crashes so much with new games until the drivers have been sorted out, takes a couple of months sometimes. I’m in the market for a 4080 or 4090 now.
    nicholas_collinson's avatar
I have a 7900xt and it’s the complete opposite of that you said, it’s never once crashed with any game I’ve played.

This deal also works with the recently reduced 6750 xt to make it £287.54!

the 5090 is rumoured to be releasing this year- 70% more powerful than the 4090
which (imo) means the 5000 series cards will release next year
if the 5060 is 70% more powerful than the 4060 and (roughly) the same price- gotta be worth waiting for
    somerandomguy123's avatar
Wait until price drops. Wait until the next product release. Wait until further price drops [you are here]. Wait until the next generation is released. Repeat.

The 6750 XT and RX 6800 are the best bang per buck cards out of the bunch and they're at reasonable price points.

Hellhound 7900 xtx apparently has really bad coil whine, seen it mentioned many times so i went for the 7900xtx aorus elite which is quiet and runs cool (edited)
    bonjwa's avatar
It's a bit of a lottery I remember reading a thread on someone trying to find a no coil whine 4090 and it was mission impossible. The more powerful the card the more likely you will experience it on high FPS. Argument was almost all cards have it, it's just to what degree.
I got some on my 7800xt it also suffers from it in certain cases.

Some good prices. Some interesting open source software was released recently to allow AMD cards to take CUDA instructions and perform reasonably well. I just thought I'd share it.

On similar note - I was able to use Pytorch for training with my 7800XT on Linux (set up dual booting) & AMD's container rocm.docs.amd.com/pro…tml

Much faster than my old Nvidia 1050 Ti

Also worth noting that Kaggle still trained the network about faster than the 7800XT with the something x2 GPU, but I had parallel enabled so it's probably simply the fact there were 2 GPUs. I was training a CNN for image processing.

Thanks for the deal, ordered a 7900xtx which I've been waiting to come in at a justifiable price. Can finally retire my 1080ti.
    Gates098's avatar
Mine is still running strong although I am waiting to bite for the 4080 Super if it comes down to a good price
  10. Scalesofjustice's avatar
Deal also via employee rewards schemes. Bought the 7900 xtx. 23% cheaper than the 4080 super but only 7% slower on average at most. A card worth buying at this price point. Hot. (edited)
    zeb.mattey's avatar
    It's faster than a 4080s in raster, just OC it, an OC'd 7900xtx > 4080s
  11. xxbluedragonxx's avatar
AMD should have done this to begin with. Undercut nVidia by £100-£200 across the range. Then people get a clear choice, pay premium for nVidia specific features or go the more budget friendly route. nVidia will not lower their prices any time soon and AMD shouldn’t try to compete.

Gamers played games just fine before DLSS and RT came along. (edited)
    zeb.mattey's avatar
Honestly I agree. AMD have to undercut nVidia, they need to be the raster gaming alternative that is just better value for that set of gamers.

I'm pretty impressed they've kept up with nVidia given the latter is such a gigantic company with an insane amount of money to throw at these chips and the software. That alone makes me want to go with them, one day, lol.

    So is the 7900XT.

£360 at Scan so £287.54 sounds pretty superb!

Awesome prices for some solid cards.

My £890 Asrock Phantom Gaming 7900 xtx decided to have a catastrophic failure (sparks and smoke) right before Christmas. However it really appears to be an unfortunate one-off occurrence and got a full refund.

Bought a TUF 4080 super (non-OC) at launch for £980 (including delivery) from Scam.co.uk but, had these offers been up at the time, would have gotten another 7900 xtx instead for a £200 saving!

Got myself a rog ally yesterday, but have been looking at upgrading the 2070 super I have to one of team red... Might bite at this price finally. Thanks, it's getting hot in here, have a degree from me, my man.

The 7900 XT is showing as £812.51 now before the 10% off. Gutted. I definitely would have bitten for £627.42.

Only have a 750W PSU so wouldn't quite be enough for a 7900 XTX.

EDIT: After using a few PSU calculators I should be able to get away with it. Ordered the 7900 XTX . Thanks OP. (edited)

XTX 7900 Price is now 788 on eBay with code, on eBuyer is 799. I'll keep faith with my 1070 til the XTX drops a bit further or 4080 drops.

I'm also sitting on my 1070 ti... I really want a 7900 XT or XTX. 20 or 24gb ram, im not that picky...

Not only is this still active, but seems to work on any seller at all, and stack with existing codes... this is essentially a site wide 10% off, how is this not well known?

    Edit: Doesn't stack with FRESH20

Can you buy a 6800XT for £100 cheaper nowadays?
