I just retired my Coolermaster psu last year after 9 years of trouble free service and at the time it was powering a high end quad core 9550. Only had to change due to a GPU upgrade but they are decent budget power supplies in my opinion. Only cost £30 back in 2008.
Got a modular Corsair with a 10 year warranty now which is silent but would recommend Coolermaster powers supplies if funds are limited.
Edited by: "Bad.Actor" 8th Feb
Have the 850w version, lucky people who got one, great psu and probably the best you'll get for 60.
Damn, too late and OOS
Been using this for a few months now, had a Corsair PSU which died on me, it's been fantastic so far - easy to install, quiet and cheap.

Highly recommended.

Reference design sure. But no body buys reference design cards...

The TDP doesn’t change for non-reference cards, just the cooler, if anything the TDP goes up as there are lots of OC cards. A different cooler doesn’t change the TDP or waste heat dissipated.

Lots of people buy reference cards

Definitely keep that - it's just about all the card you'll need. You lose a little bit of cooling ability by having the ITX version but as the other poster said, it's not worth the difference between this and the RX 580 - they are actually the same silicon just binned and clocked differently (small segment is disabled on the 570).

Think it's a fantastic card for the money, it runs very cool, the design of the shroud, heatsink and fan look great (nice textured carbon-fibre finish). I didn't bother with the extra 4GB of RAM as I don't think you can really utilise it on something with this performance and got a Vega 56 for the main gaming PC from Amazon Black Friday for £389.99.

You've got a great deal on that 570.The 2 cards are in the same performance bracket; the 580 is not 33% faster; 20% in the best scenarios, and more often than not around 10/15; all in all they are both great 1080 cards that can easily venture in 1440 with some compromises/less demanding titles. I'd keep the 570 and save the difference.

They're pretty similar in benchmarks. If I was buying I'd probably go for a 580, but then again there are some pretty good deals for a 1060 rn, so that might win on price/performance

Exactly, "full eye candy" on that game is insane mode and it actually requires more than 8gb, even a 1080ti has trouble running it. Expecting a mid range card to cope is unrealistic, drop the game one notch to high settings and it needs less than 4gb.

Well your search should be something like this: PCIe, in stock online (so the listed prices + £2.50 postage):
uk.webuy.com/sea…php?sortOn=sellprice_asc&stext=*&section=&catid=892&rad_which_stock=2
Then it's just a matter of finding something.

Maybe the £15 GT630 (GPU unknown: can be GK107, GF108, or GK208 - you probably don't want the Ferni as its (unrealistic) TPU is 65W).
Or the £15 GT720 (GK208, 19W TPU).
The £18 Radeon 7570 (either Turks Pro if OEM or Cape Verde if retail).
Thing is you'll have to investigate those for their media features and driver compatibility.

@Simon_H It does sound like it might be faulty, i looked at all the issues with the 480 when troubleshooting and most were reboot loops driver related) or random shut downs (PSU related).

I've got the 480 working now with the 16.7.1 drivers but i updated and Windows crashed, rolled back and it's fine but i am getting shut-downs when gaming even though i set the cpu to stock so definitely a PSU issue, mine's a 550w antec truepower fwiw but maybe try the older drivers.

The only other thing that worked for was installing the driver manually via system the installing the radeon applet and using Trixx to set the clock speeds but obviously such workarounds are not idea with a new GPU.

Reading comprehension not your strong suit?

I didn't claim there wasn't a difference in memory clocks. Nor did I claim there was no difference in performance. I stated that there was barely any difference in performance in the majority of games (based on findings by Gamers Nexus) and that the 8GB wasn't necessarily worth a significant amount more.

There's almost zero performance difference between the 480 4GB and 480 … There's almost zero performance difference between the 480 4GB and 480 8GB except in a select few games (AC: Syndicate being one of the few exceptions). As yet, the extra 4GB RAM isn't utilised in the vast majority of titles. It's unclear if that will change or not in the future, how much impact it will have, and whether or not it'll just be badly optimised console ports that make use of the extra memory. This coming from an 8GB owner. I'd probably pay the extra £20. But I wouldn't pay much more than that.

Little point being committed to Intel for the sake of a £60 board, especially if moving to AMD gets you the same or better performance for a larger saving, but just my opinion.Personally I wouldn't buy any K model CPU second hand without some sort of warranty or knowing the person, but that's just me. Less of an issue for non-K models of course.I'm still running along on a 4770K CPU which shows no sign of giving in, but that may change if AMD offer me a big step up for significantly less than a 6900K would cost me! I think they will deliver.I haven't had an AMD CPU since my Athlon64 T-Bird... overclocked with a HB pencil!(Oh, and good choice on the mouse - snap!)

Thanks for all the input snd information its very usefull for me guess i could always sell the motherboard if need be should be a very interesting few months

Im just going to wait to see how much the i5 7700k is. Do you know if new gen chips sell out quick or are higher on release day than say a month later. This is my build so far got a few bits free of friends and some deals of amazon warehouse and the mobo fans and cooler are secound hand https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/YhCYRG

I got a used one from amazon for £180 and can say it is closer to a 1070 in terms of performance than towards a 1060. Witcher 3 was my main test and I was getting a solid 70fps+ with ultra settings and hairworks off. Theres only 2 reasons to get a 1060 over this is, 1. It consumes half the amount of power of the Fury, 2. 6GB of GDDR5 RAM over 4GB HBM, and I say this because I was using 3.5GB of it during GTA 5, which means that 4GB wont be very future proof.
Avoid any XFX cards they are awful for breaking and RMA process is a joke.
