XFX AMD Radeon RX 580 GT S XXX 8GB @ Ballicom via Ebay for £198
Found 19th OctFound 19th Oct
Under £200 for an RX 580 with 8GB memory.

But as the 580 already beats a 1060 in most benchmarks comparing a underclocked 1060 to an overclocked 580 is hardly apples to apples. But to quote a few benchmark figures for a 580 using Unigine Heaven for benchmarks: "1411 mhz at 1150mv (stock) scored 1783 using 160 watts, 1395 mhz at 1100mv scored 1769 using 135 watts, 1355 mhz at 1040mv scored 1736 using 120 watts, 1310 at 985mv scored 1684 using 105 watts." The net difference on undervolting is about 30w. So using your 15p/kWh (you should really move to a better tarrif) that's about 82p per month and 62p per month for me. But I think most gamers who game in excess of 180 hours a month won't give a rat's about the extra energy costs. They just want the best performance out of the card they have.

If you don't have a job and game all day every day.

No not £5 a year it's £5 MONTH.

Can't win the argument so bring up something irrelevant. Thanks for playing (y)

You clearly only come here 'looking' for a deal since you have never posted a single deal in 6 years. Awesome contribution to the community, keep up the good work, and enjoy your gimped 70w GTX 1060. ;) (highfive)

Cheaper option on the colour matching maybe!!! https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/bm-dulux-paint-125l-80p-3055955 I did see a 28" & 32" 2k monitor, kicking around early this morning that was worth a deal post, so will have a look for it, as got waylaid into something else and forgot to post it!! ;)

Yes but someone needs to find me a white card to go with the rest of my machine. Also I need a white 2k monitor cheap as well get to it Hotukdealers !!!!

Not in the slightest, I and I am sure many others, love all the new deals that zillions of members are finding!! It is brilliant as its how the community should work here... there are loads and loads of deals to be had with the code, just a shame it is a misery 10% from eBay and not a bit better at 15%.. I guess they are saving that up for when Amazon slaughters them with deals on Black Friday again!!!! (party)

:)) if you are not happy doesn't mean all miners aren't. I can tell you for sure who is for long enough in this thing will tell you that even now we make nice profit from rigs. Marketing and all other bulls*** are to scare and remove new newbies like you from this branch. Like always fewer miners better price. Nice price for this card but still nitro plus will rule over all rx580 in terms of thermo and efficency. P.S a ROI now is back to 1,5 /1 month depends on how much time you spend on research;) now do the math and tell me who is not happy that after max 2 month you are gaining profit. Enough with disclosure... we need more people like you to keep newbies away:d so kids listen to this guy...dont start mining...we are not happy :))

Bitcoin is still 80% above from last year.

Let them eat digital cake.

FYI guys ... the Miners are not happy .. Crypto currency have dropped to 80% of what it was at start of year.. miners are unimpressed.

No problem!

Sorry I just realised I read the comment incorrectly, I read I'd get the 1060 over this for Freesync, even rechecked as well, Your comment makes so much sense now.

Thank you for repeating my point.

That’s why they said they would have this over a 1060, so it could be used with a free sync monitor

I tip my hat to you sir. Done some more reading and you are right. 580 is match for 1060 6gb on DX11 and better value for DX12. Power consumption is the drawback but it is valid option.

£309.65 expired? I just paid £225 for a used RX 580 8GB, the guys ebay history didn't suggest he had been mining on it.

True. I like digital foundry a lot though! Very in depth!

The larger the sample, the more generally accurate the result. Hardware Unboxed did a whole lot more games. They're pretty much equal overall, but individual experience will differ based on what games you play.

I just retired my Coolermaster psu last year after 9 years of trouble free service and at the time it was powering a high end quad core 9550. Only had to change due to a GPU upgrade but they are decent budget power supplies in my opinion. Only cost £30 back in 2008. Got a modular Corsair with a 10 year warranty now which is silent but would recommend Coolermaster powers supplies if funds are limited.

Have the 850w version, lucky people who got one, great psu and probably the best you'll get for 60.

Damn, too late and OOS

Been using this for a few months now, had a Corsair PSU which died on me, it's been fantastic so far - easy to install, quiet and cheap. Highly recommended.

Your words were ambiguous at best, so you can say 'No' all you want, but you are simply mistaken. You had a clear implication that the price was better, but alas, you probably should consider running for politics with how you wriggled out of the discussion.

No. It says the RX580 doesnt seem so overpriced when compared to the equally inflated prices of the 1060, with which it competes. Anything you infer beyond that is on you bud. Seems to me the deal got heat and OP got a 1080 so everything I said has come to pass (angel) /unsub

https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/32950266 That is a solid implication that the 1060 costs more than the 580.

Do your duty and quote me where I said 1060's cost more than RX580's then?

No, you jumped in on a thread brought up by mehmeh about 1060s costing more than 580s, it's your duty to know what you were replying to. Anyway, you don't seem to be suggesting that anymore, and yes there 1080ti is nice. Bye.

The TDP doesn’t change for non-reference cards, just the cooler, if anything the TDP goes up as there are lots of OC cards. A different cooler doesn’t change the TDP or waste heat dissipated. Lots of people buy reference cards

Reference design sure. But no body buys reference design cards...

Definitely keep that - it's just about all the card you'll need. You lose a little bit of cooling ability by having the ITX version but as the other poster said, it's not worth the difference between this and the RX 580 - they are actually the same silicon just binned and clocked differently (small segment is disabled on the 570). R9 290X chucks out a bucket-load of heat, like 275W TDP vs. 150W-ish for this card. That was the Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB. I know because I got one for £102.50.

Was £102 a few weeks ago at Amazon

You've got a great deal on that 570.The 2 cards are in the same performance bracket; the 580 is not 33% faster; 20% in the best scenarios, and more often than not around 10/15; all in all they are both great 1080 cards that can easily venture in 1440 with some compromises/less demanding titles. I'd keep the 570 and save the difference.

Similar pricing to the powercolor 8GB red dragon I posted other day. In stock on 24th November.

I ordered this XFX one, it was from GFDirect (France) I think but through Amazon and was £210 only. I asked and they said it was a reduced weekend rate, but it would come back round again.

Exactly, "full eye candy" on that game is insane mode and it actually requires more than 8gb, even a 1080ti has trouble running it. Expecting a mid range card to cope is unrealistic, drop the game one notch to high settings and it needs less than 4gb.

Even on 1080p at full eye candy 6GB of VRAM isn't recommended for my GTX 1060, the game wants 8GB.

Only on Insane settings, and a 580 doesn't have the power to run that regardless of memory.

Titanfall 2 would show the 4GB card up 8)

Well your search should be something like this: PCIe, in stock online (so the listed prices + £2.50 postage): https://uk.webuy.com/search/index.php?sortOn=sellprice_asc&stext=*&section=&catid=892&rad_which_stock=2 Then it's just a matter of finding something. 5450 and 6450 are £12. Maybe the £15 GT630 (GPU unknown: can be GK107, GF108, or GK208 - you probably don't want the Ferni as its (unrealistic) TPU is 65W). Or the £15 GT720 (GK208, 19W TPU). The £18 Radeon 7570 (either Turks Pro if OEM or Cape Verde if retail). Thing is you'll have to investigate those for their media features and driver compatibility.

I need a card like this for my old HP microserver. I just want the cheapest price to provide HDMI out. Is this the cheapest option for a new card? What should I search for at CEX? I've just tried but without success. Thanks.

Same thing, the software used have to be coded to utilise the two gpus.

This is primarily aimed at developers, it's not good as a gaming card and never has been.

I would definitely go for Nvidia GTX 1080 TI for the same money.

I believe a 1080ti will be the same or beat this in all scenarios for the same/ similar price. Also a 1080ti power consumption is much lower and lower heat output. You would also have to rely on developers coding efficiently enough to utilise the two gpus inside the pro duo.

I'm in the same position - will be hanging onto the card for a good few years so would like to future proof as much as possible. If I could save a bit of cash and not really notice any performance difference then I'd go for this card, but still thinking 'well it's only another £20 for a 1060'.

You're not wrong, but there is absolutely no reason why your SSD should be above 40C. Getting back on topic however, I received my RX 480 yesterday and I'm really impressed with the performance at 1440p.

Few 1 star reviews on google (maps) for delivery being slow, warranty claims and DOA / RMA poor service. Hope you get a good one and don't need to return it!

56c is no where near dangerous for an SSD, they are made to operate up to and beyond 70c. Heck even the bare m.2 drives don't throttle until they hit circa 90c

Pretty much why I bought this for my SFF case too. It exhausts all/most of the hot air straight out of the back, rather than back out into your system. My SFF case has no internal fans other than the one on the GPU and CPU cooler so this does the job!

Go buy a card with an open air cooler and see how that works out for you with your CPU, motherboard, HDD and SSD temps in a SFF build. Spoilers: I was doing it wrong and that's how I now know I'm not doing it wrong.
