Mi UK have changed the terms of their coupon MI2023 as of 09:13 - the code is no longer applicable to the Note 12 128GB and the Redmi 10 5G.

Another mistake from Xiaomi and as a result, this deal is not valid in full. The POCO handsets will still be on offer for the same prices but will have to expire this deal for now. Apologies.

As a side note (assuming Mi UK do not pull the offer) expect the Redmi Pad 128GB to be on offer for £134.50 / possibly £124.50 or £104.50 (£10 auto discount + MI2023 code) once 899 likes are reached - would start from 16th November and we all know these "like promos" are just a marketing ploy, it will always go on sale. There will be 300 units available.

They are all virtually the same price. Which one is actually the best?

I have been using the 8 pro since 2019 which of these if any would be the biggest step up? Many thanks in advance
    DopeyDunker's avatar
I don't think you'd consider any of them a massive step up in daily use, the 8 Pro was a good phone. But probably Note 12 and M5s the best options.
  6. Flynn125's avatar
    Redmi 10 or Note 12? 🫠
    Crossbow's avatar
I'd go M5s as that's the best overall, including cameras gsmarena.com/com…832
If you must have 5G, then the Redmi 10 wins as none of the others are 5G.

Looking for a cheap handset for an 11 year old (first phone), but torn between the Note 12 and the M5s. Seems to be a similar price after discounts, any idea which is better? (Although everyone seems just as confused as me!)
    grv999's avatar
Some say M5s is better for gaming, some say Note 12 is better all rounder due to the Snapdragon processor. After too much online researching the bottom line is in the real world they’re all much of the same and you won’t notice a difference either way.
These are ultra budget phones so people need to manage their expectations and realise they’re all perfectly fine for the price and ideal for kids or folk who only use their phone for the basics.

I got a 'Redmi Note 10 5G' in April 2022 for £109. A year and a half later, I'm surprised that 5G is not standard on all new phones. Is the tech behind 5G really that much more expensive for a phone manufacturer to include? (edited)

Question as a non-android user. Are these phones really good? I’ve been apple user all my life and don’t know better
    RuththeResearcher's avatar
I've got a Redmi Note 10 pro and I am very happy with it. It has a decent camera and a finger print sensor that works well. I don't know what these ones are like. I always buy my phones outright and then have a cheap SIM deal in order to save a lot of money. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another phone from Xiaomi. (edited)

Read some contrary comments online but if anyone is interested my M5s has been delivered and it does not come with a charger, just the cable.
Also, no screen protector but it does come with a cheap rubber case.
    HEZ1982's avatar
Yes the lack of charger plug out me off 😞

Which is the best of these upgrading from a redmi note 5, I see the note 11 pro used like new £96 is this better than these deals
    RuththeResearcher's avatar
The only problem with buying used is not knowing how old/worn out the battery is. That's the only thing that stops me from buying used phones.

I'm interested in the Poco M5s but can only get it down to £113. How do I get it down to the price of £994 with this new coupon stuff please? Thanks

How does the Note12 compare to something like a Samsung A34?
I'm getting my son his first phone for Xmas so looking sort of low/mid range, something good for games and watching YouTube that won't break the bank
    Rookiereece100's avatar
These are seriously good phones for that sort of thing

Would someone be able to help me choose between the redmi 10 5G or the Poco M5s?

I have read the specs on gsmarena and they both look somewhat equal but the redmi has a Qualcomm CPU if that's better (I've read better support for ROMs) and 5G but the M5s doesn't have 5G (probably not a big issue).

These will be xmas presents for my two kids. Both of them use them to play games / take photos / videos with and that's about it.
    Crossbow's avatar
Are you sure it was the correct Redmi 10 5G? Both have MediaTeks in them.
The M5s is better overall gsmarena.com/com…425, although neither are renowned for their graphics/games performance.
CPU+GPU differences here nanoreview.net/en/…700, may be ok for less graphics-intensive games. (edited)

I just want the one with the best camera.
    grv999's avatar
I’ve been looking at some reviews. M5s is probably your best bet. It’s the one I’m going for as a gift for someone who probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference anyway. (edited)

Is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro posted earlier (Amazon warehouse) for £96.59 as good as these phones. It's for a present and I don't know anything about them. Thanks for the help.

    that's a better deal, 6GB RAM

Great deals! Can anyone recommend an android phone with a high quality camera under £350? Thank you
    Crossbow's avatar
£350 phone with a high quality camera doesn't exist, but these things can be subjective.
Perhaps consider a secondhand one from this list, one from the top 40 or so dxomark.com/sma…es/

I got one a few days ago but don't like it. The plan was to give my Redmi Note Pro 10 with a slight crack in the corner and a battery that's been hammered since I bought it in January to my daughter but now I'm just going to let her have this. The screen isn't quite as big as the Redmi and the layout isn't the same so don't like the difference. Plus moving all my apps and files & photos was taking too long with having less built in storage on the Poco as was having to delete some lesser used things. (edited)

I smashed my p30 Pro on holiday and replaced it with a redmi note 12. Honestly it's pretty bad. I would get an old mate 20 pro for the same money, would be a much nicer experience.

Not voted either way. As a household we're probably on twelfth xiaomi handset, but I think this 4gb ram in today's day and age is ridiculous, I think time to look elsewhere for the next purchase!
