Bargain price for flights to Cape Town, under £300 return! Flights are with Lufthansa from January to March and are from Heathrow with 1 stop in Frankfurt or Munich.
Cape Town is a port city on South Africa’s southwest coast, on a peninsula beneath the imposing Table Mountain. Slowly rotating cable cars climb to the mountain’s flat top, from which there are sweeping views of the city, the busy harbor and boats heading for Robben Island, the notorious prison that once held Nelson Mandela, which is now a living museum. ― Google

I have been to various parts of SA a dozen times or so over the last 10 years and never had any problems. Cape Town in particular is a marvellous place to visit.
Cold
I have been to and from SA regularly since I moved over in 2003 and this will be my cheapest fare to date.
I decided to pay a little extra and book directly with the airline for peace of mind, it seems prices have fluctuated with the booking agents anyway...
February dates should be perfect opp to escape the U.K. winter.
January can be a LONG ASS month.
Back then £ to SA Rand was about 1:20, now about 1:23. Couldn’t spend money there it was so cheap. Steaks that you could cut with a spoon they were so tender. Never felt unsafe (we stayed in Camps Bay).
Only downside was the flight at ~12 hours.
