Find it strange that Ring don't discount this, as it's a perfect way to advertise their Ring Alarm kit? - surely they could've chosen another colour than blue?! ... make it white or black or something. wtf were they thinking.

Whats the best setup if you want a camera outside and the doorbell one?AuthorNot too sure what you want to know, but we have several cameras externally, including one in the porch, which means we don't need a doorbell one. The camera in porch detects motion and opens ring app on our phones and tv, if set up. allowing us to talk to visitor/caller at the door. Also have full alarm, base station, motion sensors, door/window contacts and soon to be delivered, a Ring Alarm Siren on the outside of house.

Quality, that's going to look smashing on the front of my house!
It goes well with those tacky chrome and perspex house numbers and blue LED lighting on the front wall. When you do break in, you know damn well that the inside of the house is just going to be shades of grey, most internal walls knocked through, astroturf out back etc. Very little to steal unless you want a 65" flat screen TV. Best pickings are usually the heavily financed car on the driveway which you can just unlock and drive away because it's keyless entry. (edited)- Darn, i needed one for the back of my house
- Wired mine into plug in attic with the ring adaptor, last time the chavs were checking car doors etc they walked straight past when normally they check my car

Cameras front and back might a right ol racket when the Alarm is triggered. I find no need for anything else.
Heat though if you are camera-less it's a a good deal

Great device, bought this on release and the original batteries are still displaying full battery.- I was surprised that this can't be connected to mains power directly. It can run from battery or mains power via transformer (3 pin plug). It can't be connected directly to your mains supply. Normal alarm sirens can connect directly. So I have a siren from a normal alarm and wanted to switch to this - it's going to be quite complicated to do though because it can't run on mains AC.

Not overly complicated, just needs a transformer between AC supply and ring siren. - This deal has ended now

Still not either. Order says on back order, site has been saying 3 in stock though for past few days.
