Their current UK range line-up is such a mess (or just documentations)!! the models don't progressively get better. In terms of the battery operated models
Gen 2 has near motion zone
4 has near motion zone, pre-roll, 5GHz wifi, quick release battery
Plus has 1536p video, head-to-toe view, quick release battery
Looking at it again, the retired 3 plus seems to be the best option, the only thing missing is the 1536p video. I need time machine to go back to buy the re-conditioned model when it was on special
Doorbell 3 plus seems to be the middle ground, where it has 5GHz wifi, pre-roll (B/W though). However, it is retired, so only re-conditioned are available, and stupidly expensive without discount.
Correction - I don't think Doorbell 3 Plus has wide vertical field of view. (edited)
also, if you are going for wireless installation, and has some sunlights, I think the solar panel is a worthwhile addition?
I have a spare battery which is always charged and the swap out takes a couple of mins max so I'll put up with it for now (edited)
