They have put the price up from £179 before discount to £254 before discount. This was looking good but I took too ling thinking about it and so missed it.

What's so good in this model? Also how much should it cost to get it hardwired?

Road Angel / Halfords reckon it'll cost about £80 to get it fitted, you may find it cheaper if you have a mobile auto technician that lives near you, but to be honest it's about an hour's work and is relatively straightforward with the hardwire kit as it includes the piggy back fuse holders. If you consider yourself to be even a little bit handy with things like this it's a really easy job.

Great bit of kit. But it not hard wired as of cigarette lighter used so it turns off when car is switched off.

This deal includes the hard wire kit as well. So you have the option to use the included cigarette lighter cable, or use the separate hard wire kit to wire straight into the fusebox.

Just had delivery of a new Octavia and need a dashcam, thanks for posting this! Luckily, in the model I've bought, Skoda have placed a USB-C port on the rear view mirror mount for easy dashcam power.
