I've found with mine if you put a few ice packs in it when you first put in on it cools down much quicker and then works fine.

Exactly, the day before travel freeze multiple empty bottles of water. Turn this on and throw in your frozen water, this will speed up the cooling and make sure all the air, plastic and insulation gets as cold as it can. Empty and add a cool block with your already cool food just before traveling, keep it in the shade and it should keep food cool for a good while. If camping a few days and you have a meal plan, freeze food for the 2nd and 3rd day. This helps it cool and will last better defrosting just as you want it.

These have their place where you have constant power, if using a battery consider a proper fridge which will work better and consume far less power (battery will last longer)

I bought the £50 aldi version a few weeks back. It's nowhere near as powerful as a fridge but it can eventually reach fridge temperatures in full power mode. I'm currently using it in eco mode in a 25C office and it's hit 10C.

Yeh bought one also. Had it running off a big portable battery in 15 watt eco mode all day inside the tent last week in the heat.

It kept all my drinks cold and meat fresh and ready for the evening BBQ. Great bit of kit!

I got one of these last year. Its still working well but I have to say the handle is rubbish often comes off so you have been warned.

These are ok for uk for summer days which don’t go above 25 degrees. If your going hotter you will need a compressor cool box (edited)

These cool boxes are designed to reduce the temperature by about 20 degrees so, if you need to keep your food below 5 degrees, then you are absolutely right.

If you are only needing to keep some cold drinks cold then they are still useful at a few degrees higher.

With my power banks, jump starter pack I can camp without power for a week.
I have an Igloo cool box as well.

Looks good. What power source(s) do you use and how long does it last?

Better to buy a Coleman or igloo, with ice blocks will last four plus days! And no motor to lump around.

    Have you got a link?

I have a Halfords version of this and a fridge freezer.
This is ok for days out , I add a bag of ice on top for cooling and drinks.
But for the long term the fridge freezer is great goes down to -20.
    This one.

    Don’t think they do the 30l anymore it’s just a 40l compressor

Anyone have any experience with ‘Icey tek’ cool boxes?

Most of these cooler boxes are rubbish when its hot outside you need a compressor for it really cool things down. I bought one from Halfords last year and its bloody good! its got a battery so keeps running even when your engine is off

Keep your drinks ice cold, can go low as -22c so ice creams when you travelling
