About this deal

RX 7900 GRE Sapphire Pulse about £20 more than the one up on offer 2 weeks ago but still a good deal, probably one of the best value £500 range graphics cards at the moment imo. Delivery may cost more or less was £7.99 for me but I'm not in mainland UK.

I would get the 4070 Super for the power efficiency myself and it is also a better performing card than this one with the extra Nvidia features CUDA, DLSS, RT etc but if you want that extra 16GB VRAM this is alright.

Get RTX 4070 Super otherwise get this for the VRAM if you need and can use the extra VRAM. This is the hateful generation of GPUs so skip if if you can. That's what I am doing, but that's because I have the option to do that.

why is the a hateful generation? Isn't the 'next' generation always going to be the one to wait for?

Although this has 4GB less RAM, I think this is probably a better deal than the XFX 7900 XT which was on sale for £570-599 recently, due to the reported quality issues with that.

All 7000 series have past pump out issue. The 7900xt for £570 was a better deal. OC that to within 15% of a stock XTX

I can see 7900xt below £600 very soon.

Good price but at this stage not worth spending £100 or 20% more for the GRE for only about 10% more performance, as new gen only round the corner. Consider the 7800xt as it’s no slouch- once overclocked matches the 7900GRE!

I’ve undervolted my 7800xt to 995mv and overclocked (memory 2562mhz, core max 2950 min 2750 mhz and PL +15%) mine to match the stock GRE on 3D mark Timespy (22000 score) that is game stable.

Overclocking the GRE gains another 10% over base performance but that is variable on the quality of the vram which I’ve heard in some cases doesn’t tolerate even a mild overclock. HUB had a Nitro which is the best model so sure it can overclock 12% to be within 8% of a 7900xt but that can also be overclocked to be within 15% of a XTX and so on and so on.

7800xt will be enough to see me happy at 1440p until PS6 and the new tech that will bring that will make all 7000 cards except XTX redundant in gpu grunt (edited)
