I would avoid these phones unless you get an extended warranty or only keep it for a year. Myself and many others have had issues with the inner screen cracking and screen protector coming off. Samsung will only repair under warranty if the phone is pristine.

I bought the fold 4 from gifgaff earlier this year in ‘very good condition’. Unfortunately, it developed a fault last week where the fold 4, well, wouldn’t fold lol. I sent it back to giffgaff for repair, currently waiting for them to fix it.

Thank you mrswitch. Do you think I should go with fold 4 or 5? If 4, maybe very good condition for 699? Thanks!

From other deals from Giffgaff, good condition will suffice, but for more POM, maybe the very good, and considering the small changes from 4 to 5, I'd save myself £800 and go for this 4

Does this come with a big pack of replacement screen covers?

I hear about 5 or 6 more iterations of folding screens and the tech might finally be viable.

Thanks to everyone forking out loads testing this tech as a minimum viable product.

I'm excited about folding screens, but if Tomorrow's World was still on they would be featuring these as prototypes. (edited)

As a two year user of a Fold 3 you're not wrong about the screens. We have a handful within the company and after a few years of use, they all show small scratches marks down the centre Fold, they look like small scratches.

    This doesn't impact use though!

If you want a big phone, nothing comes close and I doubt I could switch to a normal phone screen now. The Folds big screen is fantastic.

It's not a good idea to buy a used folding phone. But this is a decent deal.

Why not, my fold4 was used, and is working perfectly

Ordered the flip 4 in "good" condition for £350 (thanks Switchy!), and it's not got a mark on it! Like brand new aside from a lack of box. Bargain and not sure I could go back to a normal phone now.

Decided to take the plunge with this offer. Bought the 'very good' option. The phone arrived next day (bought Friday afternoon, arrived Saturday morning). Just the phone, no cable, no SIM tray tool.
Phone in perfect condition. No marks at all.
So far still setting up (having hundreds of apps it seems to take for ever), but impressed so far with the screen and that it doesn't feel as bulky and heavy as the specs had me believe.

Thanks . Was the total price £699 ? (edited)

Great price for the 4 and I can't fault it at all, the two I bought are still in pristine condition and screens still dont have a single mark on them. The good lady hits the charger once every two day and gets 5-6 hours of sot.

    Both are truly awful.

Thanks for that expansive and informative review. I'm sure that will really help potential buyers make a decision.

Decent amount of support for these phones as to be expected from Samsung and a flagship folding device. (edited)
