Pleased to see a discounted 50-incher, but sadly just a bit above my budget of ~£800.
Pity the current RS deal for the Samsung QN90B @ £799 only comes with a 1-year warranty.

I bought the QE43QN90B for £724 with 6 years warranty. Yet to arrive but happy with the 6 years warranty.

Neo qled is amazing. I have the qn94a and it looks better than my OLED CX48. Love it

Quantum refers to the the size of the dots in the colour filters used with the LCD panel. NOT the mini led that are used in the backlight which are approximately 0.02 mm in size.

The marketing term "QLED" can create confusion because the abbreviation deliberately looks an awful lot like OLED.

QLED is just a type of LED panel that Samsung uses in its TVs, with the "Q" standing for "quantum dot." Samsung says the use of quantum dots helps TVs produce more colorful images than standard LED displays can.

    This is Samsung's explanation...

Quantum dots are manufactured nanocrystals that consist of ultra-fine semiconductor materials. The purpose of a quantum dot is to produce different colours of light depending on the size of the particle at that very moment. A larger particle will skew towards appearing as a red colour and the smaller the particle the more blue it will appear.

Quantum dots are able to emit precise coloured light because particle sizes adjust at quantum-level velocities, resulting in accurate and efficient light emissions. This is the main reason why QLED technology is synonymous with tremendous improvements in overall picture quality.
