    The official word from Shimano is that this is only 11 speed compatible, so YMMV if you try it 12 speed.

    Need a new chain and a shifter. I went the whole hog and changed the front chain set and crank arms but that's optional.

    Is it common for these to go? It's the exact one on my Siskiu DSE FS. Wondering if I should get a spare.

    Depending on your: riding style/type, miles and weather. Go roughly through two/three a year, but if unlucky could replace one after one ride. At this price get them because the jockey wheels would nearly cost you the same.
