SAVE £50.00. Sire Larry Carlton T7 in Tobacco Sunburst. Featuring Roasted Maple Neck, Rolled-Edge Fingerboard, Locking Tuners & Brass Bridge Saddles

While Sire's T7 model departs quite heavily from the original T-type blueprint, it does pay homage to this seminal instrument with an orthodox Alder body that guarantees a tight, balanced sound — the perfect tonal platform for the pokey pickups.

However, Sire has put its own spin on this recognisable body shape by adding a shallow contour at the back of the lower cutaway. This minor yet thoughtful construction tweak therefore enables easier access to the upper frets, so that there are less limits to your creativity!

This is one thing I am dying to learn how to play but I just can’t click with the instrument. I really want to know how to play guitars…YouTube videos ain’t that helpful

Yeah that figures if you’re using YouTube. When you watch people play it so effortlessly you think that you should get results straight away. It’s most likely that you’re absolutely fine, you just need the practice to make those breakthroughs. I learned mostly with books, and when learning jazzy bar chords I thought I would never be able to play them cleanly. Took a lot of practice over and over, then some years to perfect it. It might be worth getting a guitar teacher to help get you started if you want a little boost. Either way, you’ll get there with practice!

Do andertons have sufficient offers on at any one time, making it viable to get down there from up north on public transport? Really wary of buying before trying out to get a feel of the axe.

They always have a lot of deals and they show the stock numbers for each guitar.
Go to their site and look at the deals section and it has filters which include whether in stock or not.

I've never played one of these, but I have had the pleasure of seeing Larry Carlton play a couple of times. I don't know if I could make it sound like he does, but that seems a great price for a guitar that he would consider gig worthy.

Just my opinion, but hot for me! Nice one mate

It’s a great deal. Really nice take on the telecaster. They have lots of reductions on other models too!

Yeah there's a few times I've thought about trying one of these ..always well reviewed but I've never seen one in the flesh

Liked the look of the white one they do
Trouble with the affordable fenders ...no rosewood now ..and the non standard colours are a bit crap

...then they bring out a nice colour in a limited or special run and charge about 800 quid for it (edited)

there is a T3 model thats cheaper at 300 quid ...in vintage white..blue and red

might be worth a bit of a google to see how that one compares the the fender squier ones that can be had for around the same money (edited)

Larry Carlton played with an immense amount of artists. He played on 4 tracks on one of my favourite albums Hejira - Joni Mitchell. Nothing else in the 70s sounded like that album.

Good instruments, but the quality control is questionable. I returned a Sire S7 because of fretwork issues, the trem wouldn't return to zero properly, and electrics were faulted out of the box. The replacement has a slightly discoloured neck, but plays better than my £1k+ Fender USA model.

Try a few before buying. (edited)

Yeah always a bit tricky as I've never come across one in any shops ..same as the G and L's which I wouldn't mind trying ..Andertons seem to be one of the main sellers

Mind you they have a good returns policy...and I believe they do check them over before sending out

Recently bought a sire bass and it's very impressive for the price

Picked up a S7 last year and for the money, it's fantastic. Easily beats guitars double and triple the price like the Silver Sky SE / Silver Sky and the Player series.

Ah crap. just seen the fiesta red on is 399, in the process of doing up an old squier tele I have in the attic, but this might be too tempting.
