i got a soda stream for christmas and think its great but they are a few issues and these are mainly down to the limited flavours that are on the high street and the fact the gas refils are hard to get hold of.
on the soda stream website there is lots of choice including clear flavoursw for making flavoured sparkling waters and lots of natural and no sugar flavours. the big issue here is that to get free delivery you need to spend over £50 and to be honest spending £50 on fizzy drinks in one go is a micky take.
on the high street all you seem to get is the full sugar cola, lemonade and orange with a diet cola and orange here and there and thata about it.

to make soda stream more successful it needs to offer the full selection or as close to the full selection in high street shops so that people know that it does more than just cola and lemonade, instead of the small limited selection they offer in retailers now and make the gas refils easier to get hold of.

Has anyone used this as a way to make your own soda water?

The new flavours weren't as good so didn't relive any childhood memories

Soda streams are brilliant, I used them for years to make Carbonated water and occasionally fizzy drinks. Unfortunately carbonated water in supermarkets at 18p and sometimes as low as 11p are so much cheaper... figure that one out - no heat given or taken.

Technically you are only supposed to fizz water and no other liquid or substance should be carbonated !!!!

You can carbonate anything you want (AT YOUR OWN RISK) but it may well make a big mess especially if what your fizzing is not ice cold. Also remember if what your fizzing contains sugar you can potentially block the fizzing nozzle and cause the soda stream to not work correctly.

Looks to be store specific. Tried my local stores (all large stores) and found none.

I do know tesco were selling all their soda stream stuff off about 2 weeks ago these included syrups and plastic fizzing bottles. The selection at my local tesco was very limited with only diet orange and diet cola but they were marked down to £1.99 per bottle of concentrate. There was no soda stream machines though.

The reason for this was that Argos has become a supplier and tesco seem to think that soda stream gear is a hard sell anyway and adding another retailer ment it was not worth stocking the stuff sodastream items as the competition was too saturated.
