A very good offer here for those starting out. I don't tend to think much of starter packs as such, as a lot of the time it's bulked out with stuff you don't really need. This though... decent, in my opinion.

Obviously you get the guitar, which is a really nice one to start with or as an upgrade from something super cheap, after getting the basics down. The 10G amp is a good addition to the set and is the same model I started with many years ago. It's plenty loud and should serve you well

The 3 month Fender Sub is really nice too, which gives you 3 months Fender Play access.

  • Squier Stratocaster Electric Guitar in White
  • Frontman® 10G Amplifier
  • 3 Month Fender Play Subscription
  • Guitar Picks
  • 10ft Instrument Cable
  • Fender Guitar Strap
  • Fender Gig Bag

A perfect choice for beginners, the Squier Strat Pack has everything you need to begin playing right out of the box. The Stratocaster is ideal for beginning players and provides a comfortable playing feel. It includes a lightweight body, a vintage-style tremolo bridge for classic pitch effects and three single-coil pickups for classic Strat tone. Also included is a free 3-month subscription to Fender Play®—the easiest way to learn guitar.

The included Squier Frontman® 10G amplifier is the perfect companion for jamming thanks to its aux input that allows you play along with your favourite songs or backing tracks, as well as a headphone jack for silent practice. The Squier Starter Strat Pack also comes with a padded gig bag, strap, cable and picks—everything you need to stop dreaming and start playing.

The iconic Olympic White colour has been the colour choice of legendary players such as Jimi Hendrix and Mercury Award Winner Michael Kiwanuka.

Features:
  • Comfortable “C”-shaped neck profile
  • Three single-coil Stratocaster pickups
  • Vintage-style tremolo bridge
  • Includes: Free 3-month subscription to Fender Play, Frontman® 10G guitar amplifier, padded gig bag, instrument cable, instrument strap and picks

Decent price, but, as with all these kind of deals, it's almost as if Left-Handed people didn't exist!

Thomann do a good amount of left hand starter kits, I posted above but if you're looking then here's the link

I had that amplifier when I first started. It's absolutely the most atrocious thing created. Even as a starter amp! I bought a battery powered mini Marshall and that sounded better.

I did have a thought that it might be some left over bullets. But could only find them in HT as well.

Getting the first shout-out for the £200 Yamaha Pacifica 112 in as the best beginners guitar that will last you much longer than any other cheap and nasty beginners guitar out there ! (edited)

Yep, bought one in 1997 and still have it as a back up now. Always been my N0.1 recommendation for beginners

This is a good deal for the package I'd say. If you're willing to look outside of Squier then I'd look at the Harley Benton's on Thomann here for a similar set. I've found they're decent quality and offers a bit more of a range of shapes.

For the lefties they also offer a decent set of options too!

Was gonna mention that for lefties on the above. Recently got a HB anniversary Jazzmaster, it's equal to guitars 5 times the price. A real beauty!

Depends what you're after within the Fender range, we see a few come up from time to time from guitar stores. Not tonnes... but now and then there's a cracker than pops up.

Is this an affinity? the only sonics I can find in white with maple 3s are hard tail.
the only ones with trem are affinity. In which case this would be an amazing deal!
    mots a great deal anyway.

It's really hard to say... the headstock in the Costco images matches the Sonic, but the Sonic is "Arctic White", and the Costco listing states (and clearly shows) the creamier "Olympic White" which seems only to be available on the Affinity.

Your guess is as good as mine... at least until mine arrives later this week!

(Absurd post-script: I was about to pull the trigger on an AP-II in Sienna Sunburst, so this offer just saved me £1,700!)

Been eyeing up a 112 and Classic 50s as I can get them for a similar price. Reckon this is worth a consideration? Been playing acoustic for years and had an old 112 in my Uni days but not sure if it’s worth testing the waters with this first.

Squire quality control is hit and miss. You might get lucky.

Another option to the 112 is an ibenez AZES31.
These guitars are incredibly made and the quality control is unreal. The nut is also wider than the 112 so that might suit people starting out.
