Nothing can save the awful first movie, which so misunderstands TOS it is unreal- but is 100% down to the dreadful showrunner- Mr Star Trek himself- who actually hated how the TV show turned out, and saw the film as his opportunity to redo his 'vision'.

Then, after the backlash to film one, the IP was torn away from 'the creator' and given to someone who actually loved the original TV show- saving Star Trek for decades to come.

The Motion Picture is an amazing, ambitious, stately sci-fi film. Too high concept for a mass audience albeit. I agree they were right to shift the tone and focus in the subsequent films, but that doesn't make it a bad film.

The price seems to be £36 for me?

Looks like price went up. I had a price notice from £32 to £36 and didn't even see it at £32 before it happened.
