As far as I could tell, it's just a second copy to send to a friend and not a sequel. (edited)

Unusual to see a two-pack. It has Steam's "Remote Play Together" feature, so if you wanted to play with a friend online, they wouldn't need a copy.

The opening track that sounds like an alarm is amazing

Yeah had it on the Amiga, it was amazing with the sound and 2 player was good fun.
But playing this on consoles was most likely a bit limited!
I remember playing Mortal Kombat on the Amiga and it was soo close to the Arcades where as the consoles was just laughable.
