These are the TP-Link 'Kasa' range (model KP115) opposed to the Tapo ones.
This model has energy monitoring unlike the KP105 version which can currently also be got for £8.98 hotukdeals.com/dea…533

Kasa considered superior for various reasons (like IFTT for home automation) but pros and cons of both.

Currently the two different apps (Kasa vs Tapo) don't communicate together but TP-Link supposedly assure will at some point.

Thank you - bought for energy monitoring. Going to try one with app to see how I get on but plan on getting a few to check energy consumption on everything in the house. Electric bill is exploding - not far off a small mortgage at this rate

Change tariffs, switch to Octopus Tracker if you can.

Thanks for posting. Needed a plug that works with IFTTT and this seems like a good deal.

In 50% of the ones I have bought the relay for the switch stopped working after 6 months. One of them came back to life after I gave it a thump on the floor, one of them hasn't. Thankfully I use most of them solely for energy monitoring and not for their switches.

Given my experience with them, I would avoid in future. (edited)

More than a few people have mentioned similar problems with the internal relay and needing to give it a hard knock in this thread (Tapo so more than likely same relay as Kasa): hotukdeals.com/sha…486
Maybe I've just been lucky but not had a problem with about 8 or so I've been using in last year (haven't been moving them around much but of course would expect should be able to)

Based on camelcamelcamel.com, these goes through a regular periodic short 'full' price followed by long sale price so for anyone interested now its high again then worth holding off for a week and likely be cheaper again (but with when winter is coming?)
