About this item
  • Shoot stunning videos in 5K resolution, perfect for keeping details vivid even when zooming. With a new 23.6 MP sensor in all its power
  • Capture crisp, professional-quality photos with 20 MP of clarity. And thanks to SuperFoto, HERO9 Black can automatically choose the best image processing, so you can easily capture the perfect shot
  • You no longer need to carry a separate frame with you. Simply pull out the folding rails, attach the camera to any mount, and go on an adventure
  • The new and larger rear touch screen with touch zoom on HERO9 Black should feel immediately familiar, while the new bright front display helps you find the ideal shot immediately and allows intuitive control of the camera
  • Included HERO9 Black Camera, Carrying Case, Rechargeable Battery, Curved Adhesive Mount, Mounting Buckle + Fixing Screw, USB-C Cable
  • Note-Freezing is very often an issue with the SD card the customer is using in the camera. Either the SD card is not formatted correctly or the card being used is not up to the specifications needed in the HERO9 Black. If the touchscreen is working, but is finicky, the best next step is to make sure the firmware on the camera has been updated to the latest version. GoPro cameras are designed to break long recordings up into smaller files as a safety precaution

Would you say these are still good in 2024? Never had an action camera/go pro before

Yes especially if you've not had one before. The stabilisation is very impressive and if you set up properly and edit after you can get some very good and publishable footage. I've owned a few and gopro have their issues, What product doesn't, but overall for day to day action stuff they're great. If you're vlogging and using all the time they can overheat etc. But I just take a few brief videos and capture fun moments and move on. (edited)

How do you use this for filming someone else when skiing? Do you have to just keep it pointed at the other person at all times? That's quite tricky when going even at moderate speeds whilst avoiding obstacles...

My friend skis with a 360 cam on his helmet. No need for a second cameraman.

These good for bike rides to catch altercations when they occur and post them on youtube?

only post them on youtube after the driver has been prosecuted though!

What's difference between this and the newer models?
    Rhakio's avatar
11 Crushes into the ground with a quality of 9. Except that 11 is overheating. For 200 you can get the dji osmo action 3, which image quality is similar to the 11 and even in some places it performs better, e.g. in low light and does not overheat

I've had one of these for about a year, mainly chest-mounted to record MTB rides. Not had any problems with it and the results are great (recording 4K30FPS with minimum Hypersmooth). I wouldn't mind a newer model for the higher bitrates but can't justify the extra expense.

You always hear reports about them overheating but not in my experience - maybe being in airflow helps with that.

Is this one any good for under water?

Gopros have been waterproof for years.

Mine turned up today without a mark on it, quite impressed for the price

Mine turned up in excellent condition just a bit of dust on the screen. Cant believe GoPro 9 to 11 does not have live preview when recording via GoPro app. Decided to return for that reason because as its a game changer for me I like that function for POV shots.
